WorldMMORPG

Welcome to WorldMMORPG

In the land of WorldMMORPG you will find some of the most prestigious races ever. With interesting lore and back stories you will be lost in adventure. WORLD MMORPG, My game that I have been dreaming of creating since I was about 7. In WORLD MMORPG, you are placed back in the ancient times. The game would have the most amazing 3d graphics for PC users to take in as they discover breathtaking stories, legends and even make history. Can the regular person say "I was part of the early Maori tribes?" No! They can't! In this game there will be no factions. Just a game to fight other players from opposing countries and maybe even go to war with another country. There will be a display showing the most dominant country once you login to the game. You would level up by doing quests and turning them in to the quest giver or completing the objective he gives you. The race and class system is quite simple. I will begin to list the races and classes below.

Country: Race(s): Classes:

New Zealand Maori Warrior, Hunter.
Australia Aborigine Hunter, Gatherer.
China Ancient chinese Martial Arts Expert, Monk.
English European Gunsman, Swordsmen.
America American (Yet To be Decided)
Greece Greek Demigod, Gatherer.
Rome Roman Demigod, Swordsmen.
Egypt Egyptian Swordsmen (Sickle only.)

Weapons For Classes:

Warrior - Taiaha, Patu.

Swordsman/Spearsmen - Sword, Spear, Shield.

Martial arts expert - None.

Monk - Staff, 2 Handed weapons.

Gunsman - Musket.

Hunter - Spear, Bow, Crossbow.

Gatherer - Hoe, Knife.

Sound fun? Check out our website: http://worldmmorpg.webs.com/

Thanks for reading! I hope you find our game interesting and fun in the future. :D

I sincerely hope this is not a solo development.

Or seven people in a school computer room. As much as I would enjoy seeing you succeed and show off how awesome a game you made, I fear that this will not work as well as you'd like it to. Amazing 3D graphics are not exactly easy to make. And breathtaking stories and legends, interesting quests are hard to do, even at a simpler level, much less on a massive multiplayer level. Good luck to you, but I think you will need a lot more than luck to do this. Believe me, I've tried to do a bit of game developing. Even basic concepts can take a long time to get to work as you want, and making it look nice is even worse.

The site doesn't load for me.

:

Btw, you may remember me as a little kid about 3-4 years ago. Yeah... I grew some balls, learnt proper grammar and came back xD

:

nothing is stronger than a scrab except maybe another scrab - oddworld inhabitans.

Heh.

It's something I would do

Jordan 01-25-2013 02:36 AM

What, no magic classes?

I'm guessing he made that sig years ago.

Crashpunk 01-25-2013 03:16 AM

It'll be funny if he didn't.

Phylum 01-25-2013 03:19 AM

Years ago? He's only been a member for just over 2 years. His last post before this was in August 2011.

This should be in NOG or NOAaL. Actually, this is something I've been wondering for a while. If I make a non-Oddworld game I feel like that should be Fan Corner material, but which subforum should it really end up in?

RoryF 01-25-2013 07:27 AM

It sounds quite critical but, I really can't see this developing. Anytime somebody on the internet claims they're making an RPG/MMORPG without showing even the slightest progress (no a webs created page is not progress), it usually fades into vapourware.

Not saying it is absolutely guaranteed that's going to happen here and is entirely possible that I'm just being too pessimistic but it tends to be the case. One thing I've really seen possible is that you don't post anything about it, and then post it when it's done. When you post something on a forum like this, it tends to distract you more and more from actually making the game. Happens to me as well.

I'd like to see it develop, but unless there's more to show, I haven't got high hopes for it. :/

Phylum really is an unnoticed poster.

Ok, thanks for sharing your points of view. I know it seems hard for someone to make a game like this with only a small team. But, since you guys wanted some demo footage ill release my youtube that I will be uploading developer logs onto.

Btw again, my sig was made years ago.

I see you're using Unity, so it's safe to assume that this will at least go somewhere (since Unity seems to make it easier from what I've seen at least). Good thing there's at least a small demo there, even if it's just like a test level or something. In my opinion, you should try and get the general engine and stuff working completely with a test level before you try making beta/final levels for the game.

Oh and just a little thing, please don't use webs for the site, creating your own will show a lot more skill and generally webs created sites tend to be for absolute starters. There are plenty of resources online for HTML/CSS tutorials and many free subdomain hosts.

What's with the random laughing as well? Just wondering.

Haha, the random laughing was because we made so many bloopers lmao. It was pretty funny, at least to us. Also yes! I will hopefully be making my own site but i'm pretty busy at the moment so it might take a while. Thanks!

I should make these, but instead explain exactly what it is I'm not doing. And why I'm not doing anything.

Lol! But anyway does anyone want simple screenshots?
Or maybe a twitter so I can keep people updated?
Can I ask another question?
Please?

Hey, not only did I comment on that but I posed a serious question regarding all threads of this nature too.

Geeze.

STM 01-26-2013 01:46 PM

Besides it's not up to us to comment. What does commenting it's in the wrong place help with?

bigface1 01-29-2013 10:15 PM

You probably know, money doesn't grow on trees. Our company is an "indie" company. This means that we cannot afford to hire 50+ people to our company to help develop our game. If you donate towards WorldMMORPG, it will go towards our website creation and maybe even paying people for modeling for us, etc. Thanks for your time, and remember donating is your choice. So don't feel like you are pushed into donating towards us.

Benefits for donating:
The game is not even in alpha, if you donate $1 or more you will have 100% access to the beta. If you donate $5 or more, you will have the game for free when it comes out.

Thanks for your time guys! Also, again you are not being pushed into donating, it just helps us out if you decide to. If you want to donate, just click the "Donate" button up in the top right corner of this black box. Again thanks!

______
Just a little message from our site. If you do decide to donate, I can get a good website going asap.

Nepsotic 01-30-2013 06:47 AM

I can't believe you've turned into a spambot.
:

just click the "Donate" button up in the top right corner of this black box
Spam fail.

Varrok 01-30-2013 07:27 AM

I've donated all my money there just to annoy Nepsotic

Nepsotic 01-30-2013 07:40 AM

I don't have anything against donating, but that's the most obvious spam post I've seen for a while.

MeechMunchie 01-30-2013 07:49 AM

If you donate $5 or more, you will have the game for free

RoryF 01-30-2013 07:51 AM

You don't think it's worth it?

MeechMunchie 01-30-2013 07:58 AM

for free

Nepsotic 01-30-2013 08:21 AM

They're going to charge for it?

MeechMunchie 01-30-2013 02:18 PM

donate $5 or more, you will have the game for free

Nepsotic 01-30-2013 02:40 PM

Yes, I get your point, but they're really charging for it in the first place?

Oddey 02-08-2013 03:59 PM

If it lives up to the description, I'd be surprised if it didn't cost more than that.
