Oddworld Prison OtherSide: Prototype in Unity3D

Here's a prototype of a project I'm working on, which is a 3D game based on my Prison OtherSide fanfic novels. The idea is to give the player an experience in which they become a guard slig for a day, so they'll learn the ropes, be able to handle prisoner disputes and so on.

To play this I recommend using Google Chrome, but other browsers should be able to play this game as well. If you've not used Unity before you'll be prompted to install the Unity Web Player which is necessary. It does have audio files so it will take a short amount of time to load.
  • Experience Oddworld from the view of a prison guard
  • Hear the sounds of other sligs interacting

As this is a prototype, there isn't really a lot for the player to do at this stage. At a later date, the player will be able to interact with the environment, take part in timed challenges and be able to make choices on what they want to do for parts of the story.

Any feedback I get would be fantastic, as I'm fairly new to the Unity game development circle.

So... graphically, it's like Oddworld made in minecraft... made in Unity?

I had the idea of making some basic 3D models, which I could use as placeholders until I've got a really good grasp on things and make photo realistic ones, so I decided to use Minecraft textures. I've then make things more complex, so you can see the fingers on the hands and the design of the mechanical pants (There are also caps on the character's heads, and potentially I can add animations and rework things easily).

Nice! I like the idea of "being a Slig for a day" a lot. I totally understand the work that goes in it and I wish you the best of luck with this! :D Have you made any progress? Great to see more fellow Unity3D users. :)

If you would like I could host it on my website for you so other players can play it without downloading?

Yeah the idea will be to host it on a website at some point.
I'm busy with university work but I have been working on new Unity projects and things like that. Will definitely make a Slig game. It will be playable in a few months time most likely, fingers crossed!

Neat, I'd definitely play this. :D
