Two problems

Alright, I hate to be the guy that asks when there's already an answer given, but well, the first problem is that the search feature seems to be malfunctional, for me at least. And I really would prefer not to spend hours manually searching the archives. To elaborate, entering the search criteria redirects me to a blank page. Now, the other problem, which led me to find this was that both of the original games now crash on my computer! Not too long ago I updated my system. Is this a system error or did Steam update in a way that was detrimental? Either way is there some way to fix the error? Ah, and is there something I can do to fix the search engine?

Welcome to OWF.

1) Use advanced search. Normal search seems to be borked, it's a problem the admins have been aware of for a while, apparently.

2) Would help if you provided us with details such as what operating system you're using now, and what you used to use.

Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for help with the search engine. My OS is the same, I'm fairly certain, and it's Windows seven. If it helps, I've read that some people have problems relating to their monitor, but nothing they've discussed has helped.

Exactly how did you "updated my system"? Since obviously that is what has somehow broken the games?

ShadowRanger2381 06-06-2012 07:52 PM

Well, last summer I updated the hardware in my computer, I forget the old stuff, but currently I'm running on Windows 7, I have an Intel i5-2400 processor, my main circuit board (motherboard? I'm somewhat new to computer dealings, so I apologize if anything I say is horribly wrong) is an ASUSTeK, my video card is an Intel graphics 2000. My audio card is a Realtek High definition audio. Oh, and to elaborate on that monitor glitch, I recall it requiring pasting some files into the folder. Oh, and to explain the crashing, Oddysee completely crashes, requiring me to reboot, while Exoddus' screen freezes right before Abe enters the screen.

I'd try disabling the in game overlay, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date and verify your steam files

And if that fails, try using this resolution fix. It helped me get the games running on my laptop.

Hmm the search that redirects you to a blank page, just click on the adress and it will allow you to search, that happens to me and I figured out that that fixes it XD
