Just thought i would create a thread welcoming myself to the forums.

I found the forums after numerous Google searches trying to find sounds and samples from the Oddworld series. i set myself a challenge to create a track using only sounds from the game and my quest led me here.

after scouting through various threads and downloading all you guys had to offer i decided to sign up and also found your facebook group.

Just a little background on myself, i am a signed producer and have been looking for new and exciting ventures to go on with my musical endevours, when it hit me *thud* do a track from one of the greatest games of our times: Oddworld Abes Oddysee.

so this is why i am here, and i look forward to speaking with you all.

Look in the forum help section. Your banners are probably too big, and will need to be resized.

what ratio do they need to be, usually i was using 400x200 for forums.

An electronic music producer, eh? What kind of stuff do you listen to? I mostly listen to stuff like Boards of Canada and Burial when it comes to electronic. Also Aphex Twin and a bit of Squarepusher.

All of the above. I have a wide spectrum of music i listen to, so cant really put myself into a box as to what my favorite genre is. i have been a Dj for near on 12 years now but only got into production 12months ago.

currently i am making mostly Bass music, so broken beats and heavy basslines but i do try everything hence why i'n trying to make a track using only Oddworld sounds (which turned out harder than expected)

i must say Burial is great intelligent music, but i do grin from ear to ear with Aphex Twin and Squarepusher and any crazy but well produced music (especially breakcore)

I would listen to those things, but I like having sex with girls.

I don't really like the loud and aggressive types of electronic music. It gives me a headache a lot of the time. I'm more of a fan of ambient electronic.

But yeah, I don't only listen to electronic stuff, either. In fact it probably makes up a small amount of what I listen to regularly, with the exception of Boards of Canada. I could listen to that shit all day.

i also try not do serious things with music hence making a track using a vocal sample from a guy with spaghetti in his pocket needing to shit in Game Stop..

Well, that was... interesting. The drum track was pretty good but the sampling was just... bizarre. But, you said it wasn't really serious, so whatever.
