Hello, I just need some help. I can't make a signature because the file is always too big, how do you guys do it?

We generally use smaller signatures.

Are you saving it as a BMP?

The file size limit on the avatar/sigs is stupid but you can get around it.

What I do is use other people's sigs as a template for the dimensions then put my own image on it. I use Photoshop to save it as the right file (usually JPEG) if it's too big, I go back and save it again but make the quality slightly worse until its compatible with the forum.

It also depends on what the image you have. If it's a hectic picture i.e. Has a lot of stuff on the image, it will have lots of pixels making the file size will be massive. I find it a lot easier to have a transparent sig like mine saved as a PNG. Sigs like mine are tiny in file size because it's just text.

Just keep trying, it's mostly down to the file your saving it as.

I'd be more inclined to use a web-optimised GIF if a PNG is, for some reason, too big.

EDIT: I;ve managed to get a signature on there that fits the file and size requirments.... but it's not showing up. Any ideas why?

Have you put the image code in the signature text field?

EDIT: Btw how do you do it so the signature has a transparent background where it pops out of the background like meechmunchie's signature?

You'll need to add transparency with Photoshop or similar.

Just have MeechMunchie make you one. He has 100's of signatures ready for use. Granted, all of them are just drawings of Elums shitting on glass tables, but still, they're pretty great.

Only plebs actually use signatures anyways.

I doubt it. But he could probably add an Elum shitting on a glass table to it.

Well I can do transparancy but it dosn't show up on the gif thing I make it on to make the size small enough.

Sure. :) I'll just mark out the areas that I'd want in transparant in...... purple, so you know hwat to take out, and I think it should be easier for you that way aswell. I presume you'd just need to magic wand it and stuff.
