Kickstarter?

After thinking long and hard I've come up with an idea on how to "kickstart" the new abe game. You guys could put a kickstarter thing to see if fans want a new game to be made and if they do, you'll have the money to do it!

I mean if wastelander, some random 1988 game got $2 million I'm pretty sure that you guys would get a lot too. Can't really hurt to try.

P.S. no troll comments this time. don't need to get this topic closed down too.

Obviously we and every video game developer from the last 50 years all evaluated our potential to profit from a Kickstarter project after Double Fine's amazing performance on it. If there's ever a time it would suit us, that time isn't now.

Besides, Wasteland isn't a random game from 1988, it's the game that kicked off [nuclear] post-apocalyptic gaming. It seems that Fargo wanted to use Kickstater because no developer would have picked up the franchise. Oddworld doesn't have that problem as far as I'm aware.

I guess you mean publisher. He's got his own dev team, inXile. And as you've said Wasteland is definitely not a random game, it's Fallout's precursor (Fallout could have been named as Wasteland 2 (it's Wasteland's sort-of sequel), but it was changed due to legal terms)

BTW The project is now succesfully funded - reached over $3 000 000

Yeah I meant publisher.

As Wil said, I don't see how OWI could use a Kickstarter project now. They are lucky enough to be able to do what they want without having to ask the fans to fund their projects.
