No, that's what the Sligs would ride. Abe would have a kart made from sticks of bamboo and powered by his own farts.

If they are going to overuse the soundbites like they did with MO and SW (grunt/boing at every jump) for the fart powered kart this is going to be one awfull game to play.

Somehow I think one kart should have Sloggies instead of wheels.

I think the fart-turbo should be more of an extra power-boost if you collect one SoulStorm bottle. ; P

EDIT: I wouldnt like to think that the intrinsic stories of oddworld are undermined by one of those typical go-kart-racing games. Oddworld isnt popular enough OR 'cartoony' enough for it to succeed. (imo)

You can't have Abe riding Elum: it's a go-kart game! The go-kart would have to be made out of bits of Elum.

An Oddworld Kart fangame would be very possible.

Fan-game or no fan-game, an Oddworld Racing game will look like total shit.

Back when I used Gamemaker I started to put together a game where you played as a slig and had to race through a factory. Movement relied on teleporters and elevators, because there was no jumping. Sadly production halted when the physics and elevator code had a rather large conflict of interest that my 12 year old self couldn't solve.

It would probably be a bad idea but I don't see how it would look like shit. Oddworld has enought great environement to make some kick ass tracks. Imaging racing trough RF's meat grinders, or avoiding the spikeballs and other traps in some huge mudokon temples.

To be honest, if you guys sat down and coded a proper racer, I'd rather you made it its' own original thing, not reusing previous dudes.

Like, turn it into a high-stakes tournament where slaves race for freedom a la Death Race, only the vehicles are all wacky and weird Oddworld stuff.

Just making a Mario Kart retread seems kind of uninspired I guess.
