Today's been fairly good. I was given an early present in the form on a new tenor saxophone mouthpiece just over a weeks ago, so I didn't get anything today ($250 for the mouthpiece is quite enough money spent on me). School was nice. I had free lessons this morning, so I slept in and was treated to a nice breakfast. At school I received a rowdy Happy Birthday from a large group of people in the Music Center, several hugs and lots of "Happy Birthday!"s. I had another block of frees in the middle of the day, so overall it was really relaxing. After school I had a Big Band rehearsal, which is exhausting but really worthwhile. I actually played a decent improvised solo in one of the pieces, which doesn't happen very often.

I'm now old enough to get my learner's permit and hop in a car, so watch out if ever you're driving through Adelaide.

I found my best sound with a Vandoren V16 T7. It's amazing. I actually sound like a saxophonist now.
