Yay! Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes.
It was a good weekend. Started off Friday night with dinner at mum's together with my sister, bro-in-law and little niece. It was a vegetarian/dairy dinner with several of my favourite foods, finished with apricot crumble and ice cream.
Saturday arvo was my main celebration day, despite my birthday actually being on Sunday. I went out with mates to an indoor rockclimbing place. I hadn't done rockclimbing of any sort since I was about 13 or 14, so it was quite difficult but a hell of a lot of fun. As it was pissing down with rain, we moved on to a nearby shopping mall and ate my cake in the (actually quite classy) food court. After that we had Thai for dinner, hung out at my friend Simon's place, then went to a late night cafe and had thickshakes.
Simon bought me this for my present. It is louder than it looks.

Toffa gave me two largish bottles of cider and scrumpy. I don't know what scrumpy is, but it worries me slightly.
The rest of my friends gave me this. I don't know
why they gave me this, but it's cool nonetheless.

(my friends don't normally do presents, but we have a tradition of going somewhat big for 30ths. Except for Simon, who gives me a present every year, but normally of a sex toy)
Sunday (my actual birthday) was quite busy. I had an early lunch with a new-friend-who-I'm-interested-in-and-maybe-something-will-come-of-it. He didn't know it was my birthday. He's new to Melbourne, so I showed him around some of the hidden places of the inner city.
That was followed by the How To Train Your Dragon stage show. The robotic dragons were spectactular. The humans... less so. Overall, it's pretty good.
Then that night had Chinese for dinner with Dad, stepmother and sister.
