Using blender/3ds max/maya to create new cams

Would anyone be willing to make a tutorial on how to do this? I've had a go at trying some stuff with blender but don't know how you'd set up a camera for each screen?

I know this has been done before and would like to try it out, also is it possible to create a foreground layer this way too?

Sorry if this thread is considered bad/spam since I'm not bringing anything to the table here!

I was thinking people could share props like boom machines, doors etc to make new maps :)

I do mainly modelling for my game clan so I wouldn't be able to help you out sorry.

The only game I could do that for was Tremulous when making a map inside Blender.

EDIT: I remember actually naming the camera a certain name to actually get it to act in that certain way if it be on the Human or Alien team.

What if you just create your background in Blender and take a screenshot of it in blender to create the cam?

But its how to render via a blender camera that gets your stuff to match up with the grid thats the issue really :/

Paul, this is actually what I was asking you in PM last year, remember? I wanted to know the grid so I could match the camera's view in my scene to the cameras in the Abe games ^^ It took me lots of adjustments to find the best perspective, and even then it still wasn't quite right

Edit: I'll share the object's I made, I'll sort it next time I'm on my laptop. My scene was the first screen of feeco depot, so i made the flooring, flooring pattern, some piping, the slig news TV info station. (I didnt texture anything coz I'm hopeless at that)

hmm I see. I was thinking make a plane that matches the grid? Get that to render as "the screen" and use the plane as a reference?

I know how to use blender but if you're going to take this method to make levels, it may become very time consuming, I use blender for certain detailed props for my backgrounds sometimes when I make them and most of the other times I just make it in photoshop.

I know blender, it's difficult to use !
