Easter Eggs in OSW HD
I haven't played the game, but I would like to see any Easter Eggs that you guys have found
Screens, videos - welcome! |
EDIT: I didn't understand what OSWHD meant, I do now.
Anyway why don't you post something to actually contribute to the thread? |
OSW HD is Oddworld Stranger's Wrath, man
|
Oddren, it's generally frowned upon to create a thread without being able to contribute to it yourself. Given that it's only a short amount of time before people start finding things, I personally don't have a problem with this thread, but bear that in mind for the future.
|
I think that perhaps he didn't phrase the OP well. If he'd written 'I haven't played the game, but I would like to see any Easter Eggs that you guys have found', that would have been fine. And I approve of this thread.

I was about to post this in another thread when someone asked what Mudokon Pops looked like, so I think it's a good idea to have a separate thread :) Found this recently:
13146 13144 13145 13147 13148 You shoot the RF barrel and a whole load of Mudokon Pops bursts out! There is actually a trophy for destroying 10 hidden barrels, so I'm assuming there's 10 of these, but the only one I've found so far is in Buzzardton at the top of a ramp. There's also a trophy called I think 'Go with the flo' for finding a hidden medicine bottle. Judging by the spelling of 'Flo' I have a feeling this might be a certain Vykker product from Munch's Oddysee :p |
Now that's an awesome easter egg. :D

Adam Toomes has found five: You'd have to ask him where.

So...the whole point towards AO is void? Mudokon pops are in consumption now any way. XD
How very dystopian. |
You should have seen the first iteration of mud pops. Needless to say they were changed amidst fears of me getting banned from Germany and Australia.
|
If it's so needless to say, why did you say it?
|
I'm very pleased about this easter egg - This, along with slogs (which didn't actually exist in ordinary SW) now show a direct link to the older games within SW. :)
|
yeah, this is a great find, i myself havent played SW yet, but i plan to borrow the original from my friend. (theres no chanca of me downloading the new one now with all my internet problems) and how have mudokon pops actually gone into production? or is it purely just an easter egg (with no explenation)

Now that we're seeing actual Mudokon Pops, I guess we know now that they are in fact molded Mudokon meat and not just their heads on a stick. That would be terribly wasteful, come to think of it. Like only eating the eyes off a lobster.

They make Stranger vomit.

Awesome easter egg by the way, makes SW feel less disconnected from the rest of the series. |
Given that SW-HD was originally announced for Easter 2011 and then delayed until December, shouldn't we call these Christmas Eggs?
|
Who came up with the idea of putting Rupture Farms barrels in SW anyway? Because it's one of the coolest Easter Eggs I've seen in a while now. Easter Eggs that expand on the universe's history. I love it!
|
I thought the Vyker doctor was enough linkage. It distants Stranger's 'world' from Abe's world, but there's still the connection there. I don't think tying them together is a good idea. It's nice for both Abe and Stranger to have their own spotlight where they are each an idol in their own world and not to be belittled by one another.
|
I think Mudokon natives in SW would of been amazing.

Given that this is just an Easter Egg, it doesn't detract from the game play or monopolize elements of the story. It's just a nice Easter Egg for those who find it and know what it is. Nobody has to have played the previous games to be able to follow it - the story still stands alone. Also, I'm offended my spell check doesn't recognise Oddworld species. |
There's an Abe wanted poster on the ground where you get the boat.
