Garry's Mod General Discussion Thread
I haven't seen a GMod general discussion thread before so I made one. Unfortunately I don't have access to my own computer so I can't really post images of it at the moment.
Anyway, how do you guys make spaceships? I just use a combination of thrusters and hoverballs. |
I generally used to play on GMod for the gamemodes but I find myself using it less because of other games coming out (playing GMod for nearly 6 years makes you want to play other games much more).
There is going to be a major GMod update soon, and it'll likely break everything and that's probably when I'm going back to it (read: Garry's screenshots on his Steam Profile which I'm too lazy to link to). |

I downloaded Garry's Mod a couple of months ago. I'm at a point in it where there's so much to do, I just don't know where to start. Such a shame, I wish I could do things.

Garry's Mod is one of the best sandbox games every created. I've spend far too many hours messing around with it.
The Gamemodes are really good to, I've played Trouble in Terrorist Town which is really fun and that Zombie mod mode. |
I played a few zombie survivals, most of which I was missing textures or models. :/
My favorite add on would probably be the Pikmin addon made by Aska49. I often screw around with stuff from Toybox. |

Well, vanilla Garry's Mod is just a physics sandbox tool, but with zombies and explosions. I've had more fun with that than any multiplayer game mode.
Anyway, there are plenty of OWF members in the Steam group, why not invite them to MP with you? |
I'm always so timid when it comes to multi-player games. I've always been one to play solo but playing with other people interests me. I get scared I'll be shit and will be made fun of etc.

If you're just playing Gmod sandbox multiplayer you can't really be shit at it, everyone just screws around in their own corner of the map. At least thats what it was like last time I played which was years ago since I can't get the prick of a game to work anymore.

It's still like that. Although some of the time in mutiplayer sandbox, Minebag's tend to spam stuff and make the server either lag or crash. -_-'

But yeah I do remember 12 year old's spamming bridges and shipping containers all over the map and fucking up servers, that's why I just stuck to single player sandbox which is pretty much the same as multiplayer minus the annoying pricks. |

There are a couple of single-player gamemodes but honestly, normal Garry's Mod with a few addons is the best way to play.

A Mingebag: Someone who retains the default character model (Dr. Kiener) and then spams a whole lot of random crap to intentionally crash or lag a server.
