Hi.

I just wanted everyone to know about a game called Project Zomboid.
It's an interesting zombie survival game in which you raid nearby houses for tin cans and try to live as long as possible. There are finite resources and there are zombie hordes that travel around the map randomly. There are also other humans that will probably try to shoot you with a shotgun.

It's quite fun, addictive and is going to be updated a lot in the future.

You should just buy the game, it's only £3 and it's truly amazing! The next update is going to be awesome, truly the best zombie game I've ever played. (Actually, 2nd...<3 RE2 4eva)

I've heard about that game. Did the developers fake the whole robbery thing? The one where lots of data was stolen from them and they didn't have back-up files? Lots of people said that they made it up.

I remember the game beacause of the whole PayPal fiasco.

heh,what I mean was that the next update will release a lot of new info that will turn Zomboid into a propr RPG, it should make the game a lot more interesting, adding things like depression and fear and how it effects gameplay.

I played the demo and didn't get past collecting a cooking pot to make soup. I don't think I like it.

I don't like how my choice is either watch my wife get shot, smother her to death with a pillow, or set fire to my house.

That didn't sit right with me (I don't like being given loads of choices, none of which I want to do) so it kind of marred my experience. Oh, then I got shot in the face by a man in a supermarket.

It's only temporary, it's just to give a bit of the story line while they work on the game mechanics. Which is priority at the moment it seems.

Yep. This game is far from complete. The tutorial only takes a minute to complete and gives you great items for doing so. The developers even admitted the the pillow was a cruel idea. But it is up to the player choice whether they use it.

Items worthy of note: 144 shotgun shells, about 20 packets of chrisps, about 30 cans of pop, 14 bottles of whiskey, a spiked baseball bat, a hammer, an axe, three lighters, 70 bandages, two torches, various tablets, 89 nails, 8 pieces of wood.
Also since pens and pencils are worthless. I'm collecting them as prestige. Pens: 13, Pencils: 8

Zombies don't really do a lot of damage on their own. I was trying to get one to turn me into a zombie but it didn't work and I died.

Devs start work on Project Zomboid.
Devs instantly realise that they'll have to do this full-time i.e. give up their jobs.
Devs search for ways of getting income for an unfinished game, decide on pre-orders with included beta access.
Devs set up PayPal scheme to collect funds.
Everything goes swimmingly, pre-orders flood in and development continues.
A FEW MONTHS LATER. Devs are contacted by PayPal for violation of PP Terms of Service.
Part of the PP small print is that everything you sell has to actually exist. From PayPal's point of view, they're selling a game-shaped hole and a promise that it will be filled later.
In PayPal's defense, they're being fairly reasonable - If one of the devs goes out and gets hit by a bus, development stops, and they'll be liable to give all the customers refunds.
An ultimatum of about a week is given. Fix the problem or your account will be shut down.
The game is nowhere near finished, releasing it in this state is not an option. Devs lament.
Ingenious solution: Sell something instead of Project Zomboid. Go public with the problem and explain the change.
Spend about 2 hours making what critics are hailing as 'The Worst Game Ever Made'. A Rock-Paper-Scissors simulator. "SELECT YOUR MOVE: ROCK. COMPUTER PLAYS: PAPER. YOU LOSE."
Edit the PayPal transaction page, sell Worst Game Ever Made for $20 apiece. Small print reads "Comes with free beta access and preorder for our next game, Project Zomboid."
Gain masses of publicity recounting this story to every PC gaming media channel in the land.
