Rayman 2D Prototype!
Well, I finally find how to play Rayman 2D Prototype levels (There were exist
two of them). This prototype is hidden in original Rayman 2 PS1 game. This works whit GameShark/Action Replay codes. (1. Activate the code for the level of your choice in the main menu or the pause menu of the game. 2. Select the Load Game option and load any of your saved games. 3. The game will load the selected stage instead of loading the Hall Of Doors! This should be in non-Oddworld gaming ...

Psst M_M ... You shouldn't backseat mod x_x At least add something to the thread, as it's spam otherwise.
Anyway I'm moving this to Non Oddworld Gaming discussion. It's an interesting find though. If I had a PS, I'd check it out... I just may anyway with my special ways. Teehee. |
Ah well I apologise, I had nothing to say on the topic because I'm not a real big fan on Rayman.
|
Rayman looks like a baby! also how much health do you need?!
|
The art style for Rayman is so pretty.
|
If I read correctly, they were hidden on Rayman 2?
Why!? |
Easter egg and stuff like that.
|
I find it weird considering Rayman 2 was a 3D game, it's like having 2 games on one disk.
|
That's cool, I love the pixelated graphics.
|
You guys talk about this like Rayman wasn't ever a sidescroller.
It was. |
It was the strongest game in the series before Origins, too.

I would have preferred the prototype style honestly. I didn't like Rayman 2 that much.
|
Rayman 2 was a really average game. It was a solid platformer, but it felt uninspired and the combat really didn't work. The final boss was shit, too. I don't know why most people love it so much.
I'd really recommend Origins if you like the style of the demo level. Its paced about 5 times faster, though. |
Question: Is Origins ridiculously hard like the original or is it actually enjoyable?
|
I'm about 10% of the way through it and it's nothing near as hard as the first was by now. Origins doesn't have lives, either. You simply continue from the start of the room when you die. One of my biggest issues with Rayman was the gruling continue/life system.
While there's still difficulty, Ubisoft have done away with objects appearing randomly which relyed on previous knowledge of a level essential to completion. It also feels much better, giving the player oodles more air control. The helicopter and attack mechanics are much smoother now, too. Some levels in Origins require you to fly in gusts of wind much like the Super Helicopter level in Mr Stone's Peaks. The key difference is that the helicopter feels infinitely more responsive in Origins. So it's not as hard yet, but if it gets to be it will feel less unfair and still be fun. |
Good. I like challenging, but I can't be doing with early 90s ridiculous platforming shenangians.
May pick this up at Christmas. Despite my issues with the difficulty, I did like the first game enough. |
I think Rayman 3 improved on Rayman 2 quite a lot. Not may people would agree with me but I think Hoodlum Havoc is the best Rayman game (Aside from Origins cause I haven't played it yet.)
|
I picked up my copy of origins yesterday, I haven't played it yet as I stayed at friends house for the night but I'm really looking forward to it.
Despite how infuriating I remember it being I am also tempted to pick up a copy of the first game again. |
I really want to play this, but at the moment I've got too many games on the go and I have no money. After Christmas maybe! The first game is great but as mentioned by WoF, it is infuriating.
