Big Kahonees and Mudokon Tribes
At the Oddworld Encyclopedia page for Mudokons, statuses are listed: http://oddworldlibrary.net/toe/Mudokons
Where are the "Flake", "Poser" and "Big Kahonee" from, Munch's Oddysee? On another note, some Mudokon tribes are mentioned besides the Mudanchee and Mudomo; namely the Mudmeechee/Mudoncho and the Mulletokon. Where is that information from? Dear Alf perhaps? |
Yes and yes.
|
I have an ad from '98 for Abe's Exoddus that mentions Mudombies. They must have been scratched fairly late in production if they were already mentioning them in the marketing.

I'm pretty sure Mudmeechee and Mudoncho were fanon rather than canon.

I think Mudombies were mudokon zombies you would find on Necrum Burial grounds, perhaps they were scratched from the game because they were too slow and didn't offer much of a challenge?
|
Again, could have been the three weirdos considering that they are dead.
AE had a more tongue in cheek approach so they could have been renamed to keep in tone with the game. |
They were definitely dead, They became spirits after the Glukkons disturbed the bones.
And Mudokon Zombies sound intresting but I can't see it working at all. |
Regarding Flakes, Posers and Big Kahonees, these weren't actually in Munch's Oddysee, they were conceptual status levels that were designed but not used in the game. I can't believe no one called me out on that.
Mudombies were indeed zombie Mudokons. I'm not sure why they weren't in the game. |
I agree with crashpunk that I can't see that idea working at all.
I just think that for Oddworld it sounds silly, and really, what challenge would they pose unless they were like the running zombies in Timesplitters? |

Aren't mummies pretty much zombies with a cartoon white rag onesie?
|
Well yes, it's more to do with colouration and decor than anything, but those aspects of the Mudombies matched up with those of a mummy nonetheless.
|
Were Mudombies going to be enemies or allies (relative to Abe, of course).
|
Enimies at worst, obstacles at best.
|
Both! You had to save them, but they could kill you.
|
Thats actually quite a nice idea, It would be intresting to see how it would work.
|
Well, like Scrabs and Paramites in a way.
|
"Kahonees."
Hurr hurr. |
Except you don't need to save Scrabs or Paramites.
|
Technically, that's what a lot of the story line is about...you just don't do it in game play.
|
I did. I left every zone with all surviving beast in the best situations I could give them.
Except that one time I tried to blow all the paramites up in Munch. Never managed it though. A mug's game. No offense, Max. |
I managed it!

But the zombies may just take away the feel for all we know. I just can't really see that, that's just my opinion. But that may be fit for a more recent release. |
