Rubik's Cubism
MOD EDIT: This thread split off from WDYLL here.
Back on topic, I thought I might photograph this mighty accomplishment :D It originally took me 3 days to complete, today at school I solved it in 20 minutes and when I got home, it only took me 5 minutes. I'm quite proud of myself actually. http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...32448172_n.jpg |
You look tired as hell, your eyes are all red, xP great job though, those things were a bitch untill my friend taught me the trick behind them.
|
That's actually because I was trying to figure it out all night last night, haha :P
|
You have more dedication than I do, I would promptly show Mr. Rubik the general direction in which I would like him to fuck off. lol
|
Pffffft, stop trying to fool us Mudokon_Master!
We all know that really that was just a brand new cube you bought ;) |
The easiest way to solve it is to take the colours off and put them back in the right places :) I've solved the rubix cube lots of times using this method
|
I never have the patience for Rubiks cube x_x
|
Are you planning on getting faster, or just having it as something you can do?
|
hehehe
|
Dirty. lol
|
those dirty motherfuckers.
|
You sick bastards.
But I want to get into speed cubing as soon as I get a decent cube that turns properly. |

|
We call them cubies ;)
|
I just realised this was turned into its own thread.
I call them squares which is stupid because they're not :/ |
I split this discussion off to its own thread. Mainly because I wanted to post this video and couldn't bring myself to spam up WDYLL.
This was built by a bunch of my students. :D |
Holy crap that's amazing :P
But you mean you actually taught the people who made the robot or just know them? |
I taught them labs in Intelligent Systems and they were building that robot at the same time in a different unit. I was spitting chips, as I had wanted to do a Rubik's Cube solving robot in my final year and wasn't given permission to do so.
|
Why not?? o__o A rubiks cube solving robot is amazing :p
|
Freaking Asians! Can't even see their hands moving.

But aren't you supposed to be able to decide your own project? Like, I understand that they'd advise against it, but you should be able to make your own decisions x_x
Anyway I think maybe it's because that even a few years ago, people weren't so much into "funny"and "creativity" when it came to professional shit. Maybe they were more into practical stuff. I dunno though. But today's world seems just about crazy enough to accept an rubiks cube solving machine. Though in a way it seems awesome enough for any time period. |

oh... Well that sucks :( ... Was probly just a grumpy supervisor.
it's funny to think that sometimes someone else has such a great influence on how your life turns out. |
That's awesome, Nate.

:
Seriously. how the fuck can someone do that? |
|
Rubik's Cubes are quite fun.
I was invited to a friends a while ago and she had one laying around. Spent about four hours with it until I completed it. Then, everyone was drunk and there was no alcohol left. sigh |

I've never heard of such a pattern and if it did exist it wouldn't be used in a world record. There are certain methods for switching square x and square y without rearranging the rest of the cube. A cubist (or whatever the demonym is) needs to memorise these methods and must be able to quickly figure out which ones to use.
