Oddworld marathon
Me and my friends are going to attempt to play through every Oddworld game that we own (AO, AE, MO, SW) in under 24 hours. We've played the games before so we roughly know what we are doing.
Do you reckon this is possible? Would we be able to 100% every one? Have any of you attempted anything like this before? We have done a few marathons before (Mario Party, Desert Bus), just nothing that has required a full play through of 4 stand alone games. Thanks! |
I think it's very possible to even 100% every one of them if you know what you're doing in less than 24 hours.
As far as 100% goes, remember: 300 muds in AE. That plus the other 3 games in under 24 hours...good luck. lol
I'd only ever attempt it with other forum members present.
I suppose you could use a few tricks within the games like the Boing Elimination Glitch on Munch's Oddysee, (type that into youtube if you don't already know about it) and the mudoken multiplier in Feeco Depo.'s Executive Office, but that requires invincibility. In fact, you might have to use cheats if you want to beat all of the games in less than 24 hours, trust me!

I sped though Exoddus in about 4/5 hours. I kept dying in Bonewerkz and SoulStorm Brewery.
So are you guy beginning at like 12AM and playing through the nights?
That sounds awesome! |
Prepare to hate Oddworld for the rest of your life.
We normally start playing around 7 or 8 in the morning, just so we can get breakfast in before we start. And really, nothing can be worse than playing Desert Bus for 24 hours. NOTHING. For those who don't know what it is, just search it on YouTube.
I'd love to take this challenge on with a few friends,
Sadly though I have no way of playing SW right now. |
I don't know MO and SW well enough to playthough quickly. AO and AE is a different story :)
I think in the level where you have to get into Splinterz, there's a Big Bro Slig at the end that you can posses which will make the 1st part easier.
Another thing: if you decide to get the good-endings for each of these games instead, then you can use the boing elimination glitch to get through the levels as quickly as possible, and at the point where the game plays the bad-ending, you can run toward the exit while pausing the game as much as you can. This should allow you to get past the bad-ending trigger and finish the rest of the game with the good-quarma ending! I don't think that the bad ending can be avoided for the game's predecessors, though.
