Concepts Wanted

I am working on a massive three part comic series, well three seperate stories that make a whole. Crucifix, Saints and Holy. Think Hellboy, but with more judeo christian overtones. Anyway, if anyone can provide any unique variations for creatures such as werewolves, vampires, mummies, any monster, really, it would be much appreciated. I cannot pay for commissions, but I thought it would make for fun and interesting artistry. Besides, might make for some entertainment. Creatures are fun to draw, at least for me. So, have at it!
Any questions pertaining to the work are not only permitted, but encouraged. When I get the chance, I will post my own concept art, for the moment I'm writing the damned thing. lol

You might want to check your spelling of 'Crucifix'. That could have been embarrassing.

StrangerEastwood 10-24-2011 03:11 PM

*facepalm* Spell it a million times over and over and I fuck up in a public post. Either way, it is kind of useless to call out a typo with no intention of adding anything. >_<

I don't know, if you thought that was actually how you spelt it, it would be helpful to point that out before you published it :p

What about a good werewolf who kills bad ones? I would read something like that :P

MeechMunchie 10-25-2011 02:28 AM

How about the undead are all people corrupted by different sins? Like werewolves are people who have been consumed by Wrath, vampires could be Lust, zombies Gluttony etc.

StrangerEastwood 10-25-2011 02:32 AM

I like the deadly sins concept, like seven: monster edition. lol
And I have werewolves that kill other werewolves, xP
Thankfully, twas but a typo.

MeechMunchie 10-25-2011 04:44 AM

I guess Jealousy would be ghosts; zombies would be Sloth* and switch Gluttony to ghouls; Pride would be wights/draugar (or mummies :D) and Greed would be liches.

*It's hard to think of Sloth as particularly threatening, but then I guess zombies aren't that scary any more either.

Except in 28 Days later, but I suppose the Rage virus only resembles zombies, as they don't eat you...They pound the ever lovin ' outta ya. But same principle, lol
But, then again, ever since Romero, the word "zombie" has been radically altered...So what really constitutes "zombie' anymore? Mindless bumbling?
It's ironic really, Romero never outright called them zombies untill later. That was the fan's doing. They were 'the walking dead' and nothing more.

I like MM's idea, the one about the 7 sins. Really good! :D

It is, ah, how do you say, ah, sexy good thing, ya?

What sort of style are you wanting? Realistic, fun, traditional comic book..?

Vampires are equivocal to people like politicians, criminals and drug addicts that pollute the lives of those around them and take as much as they can. Those who deliberately and consistently (with or without malice) caused misery and trauma to the world. In death (or undeath) their habits evolve to the point of literally sucking the life out of other people. Except not just blood. Vampires will do anything for human vital fluids and organs; ripping, tearing and gouging their way to a tasty kidney or vial of bile. This dependence grows each and every time they feed, and the longer they go without feeding the more gruesome and inhuman they look. Your typical vampire will be tall, lithe, pale. All that Jazz. Their body hair is bristly and sharp, their nails and palms covered in a corse layer of scales that can scrape away the skin on someone's arm and rot it with toxins (like heroin). Their jaws are more snout-like (though very stubby, not quite a pug muzzle or retriver snout, just an elongated, jutting human jaw.) Instead of fangs they have two slips of bone fitted in front of their teeth that they can slide in and out for use as a beak, and for biting into torsos. They have raspy voices and typically live in tatters. They are not physically strong or fast, but they are resilient and difficult to kill. Vampires usually only conglomerate in small, lonely groups of 2 or 3. They are common and live in absolute misery, detested by every living thing and only capable of tolerating each other's hideousness for short stints. These small groups are more for the benefit of hunting than anything, as vampires are not very capable fighters alone due to their weak stature and dependence on feeding immediately after a kill, so they must band together and bring down feeble humans themselves.

So now someone who can draw can draw that.

I was looking for realism, but stylized, Frank Miller-esque.
