Tim Schafer and company are hosting an event very soon brimming with promise. Sequels? New IP? We can't wait!

As you can see in the above image, Double Fine has a lot of business in store for gaming journalists on October 14. Will we see followups or DLC to games like Stacking, Iron Brigade (formerly Trenched) or will these be entirely new projects?

Unless there's an embargo on the info, we should have all the details for you guys on that Friday night.

What would you like to see out of Double Fine next?
Let the excitement commence! Hopefully it isn't the announcement of Brutal Legend 2 and 5 DLC packs for it.

Woo, this got me excited! To be honest, I'd really like a sequel to Brütal Legend. Even though it was a disappointment for me, it was still a good game. Also, we still haven't got Trenched in Europe...

DarkHoodness 10-09-2011 01:45 PM

Agreed with that, Brutal Legend was fun but could've been so much better - If there is a sequel, it had better be a more polished and refined game than the first one was.

Hopefully they'll be announcing Psychonauts 2. Maybe the small update and promotion they recently and unexpectedly gave to the PC port of the first game is significant somehow.

It's not going to be a sequel for Brütal Legend. As far as I've heard, it didn't sell enough to justify what it cost.

One of these will probably be Once Upon A Monster. I'd bet money on DLC for Iron Brigade, given that all their other downloadable games so far have had DLC. Probably one or two more iPhone games. Hopefully Android games as well. Other than that... no idea.

I'm going to cautiously imagine a world where Psychonauts 2 is a possibility.

DarkHoodness 10-10-2011 09:02 PM

Well, I did read something a while ago which said that Tim Shafer wanted to do a sequel.

Dynamithix 10-15-2011 02:12 PM

So, one of the announcements was that Costume Quest is available for PC now. If you haven't played it, I do recommend it. It was a fun little RPG.

MeechMunchie 10-15-2011 02:14 PM

Steam link for anyone who's interested.

I'm not, but it pays to plug good devs.

Dynamithix 10-15-2011 02:17 PM

Oh and I forgot to mention, this could be one of the things:

:

Our communication hasn't been great because we're SUPER BUSY working on a DLC pack that is stuffed to the gills with awesome new stuff. How do you feel about a cannon whose shell sticks around after detonation and collects Scrap for you? IT'S COMING! :D

Daxter King 10-17-2011 11:02 AM

So, it seems they are stretching the announcements out, here is what we have so far:

1. Costume Quest PC(Out on Steam now)
2. Iron Brigade(Trenched) DLC - http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/17/ir...ars-and-bears/

4 more to go, also did you UK folks ever get Iron Brigade?

Dynamithix 10-17-2011 11:31 AM

Not yet.

Next announcement has arrived. Happy Action Theater for Kinect, you download it.

Dynamithix 10-18-2011 01:01 PM

Meh. I wish they'd announce a new game.

Daxter King 10-18-2011 01:02 PM

Look to the post above yours, they just did.

Dynamithix 10-18-2011 01:06 PM

No no, I meant a real game.

Daxter King 10-18-2011 01:07 PM

Im still holding out for Psychonauts 2, but it looks slim right now.
