The new female voice of Stranger HD
According to the interview with the sound guy, Stranger HD will get a female voice for the townsfolk.

Just listened to a few sound clips. God, they sounded annoying, although I wasn't expecting much when listening to voices intended for cartoon characters. I suppose they might've made more sense/sounded better with some context.
Well, while I'm not going to judge Stranger's Wrath female characters on the voice clips displayed, I do have to say that her website is absolutely mind-blowingly outstanding.
:
Hope I wasn't the only one who suggested this. I'm so glad they decided to do that, I always thought SW could have been improved a lot with female voices that are authentically female. |
:
Her voice. Ugh.
Wait, what? I just listened to her Cartoon and Character recordings and she seems reasonably talented. Some of the cartoon voices are annoying (especially the first one or two) but some of them are much better, and the different accents and tones she does for the characters are quite good indeed.
Well, I was kinda annoyed with original female dubbing as well... no matter who dubbed it
I actually liked the all male cast. It definitely got far more laughs out of me. Monty Python style.
:
They could've spent a bit more time on it mind lol. |

I really like Jo Mamma's masculine voice. I've always unconsciously thought of her (or him)as a gender-confused cross-dresser.
:
The female Grubb chief sounded like all the other Grubbs. There was nothing different with her voice. So that voice being changed i'm happy with. The Clakkers and Jo Mammas voice suited them, I thought.
I can't stand Jo'Mamma's voice. It's one thing to raise its pitch, but they also sped it up for some reason, making it sound artificial.
I don't really mind them changing the voices, but I thought they were fine to begin with. Clakkerz especially. I kind of liked the way Jo'Mamma's voice actually did sound exactly like a normal outlaw but sped up, and higher pitched, which made her feel just as tough as any other outlaw. The Grubbs had ridiculous voices to begin with, so they were kind of genderless to me.
:
On the topic of Grubbs, I really liked their voices, though I think Frayda's voice could benefit from an actual female. As long as it maintains that panicked Kermit the Frog/Bobcat Goldthwait charm. |
In the non-HD PC port, Jo'Mamma's voice was "Fixed" with the rest of the sounds (unless the voice was sped-up using the game engine), so sounds like any other male outlaw. Somehow it made her a lot more humorous, like a gender-confused cross-dresser as MoxCo. said. :P
Still, glad the female characters are getting a dedicated voice actor for them, finally. Funny as it was to have an all-male voice cast, it made the female characters slightly less believable. And speaking of the Grubbs, is it me, or is their voice processing to make the voice actors sound higher pitched really too obvious? If that makes sense. |
It did. It had that slight "echo" that you get with a cheap pitch shift. Even I have software that's better than that.
Changing the grubb chief's voice? sweet, I can fap to that.
well thats me ripping up my pre-order! :p
Can she voice Abe and the Sligs in AbeHD?
:
I don't. I lied and i don't know why
All Oddworld characters are replaced with Robotnik
NO! - every ytp ever.
Wait wait wait. Are they making Stranger a girl for the HD release?
No. The Stranger was a girl already, I'm surprized ya didn't notice...
Yeh, didn't you see her...you know...in the de-pantsing. I did.
Forget the Outlaws, she had some nice bounties of her own, if you know what I'm sayin'.
