Constant Mediocrity or occasional brilliance?
If you were forced to choose between a book/film/album/game which was consistantly mediocre and something that was mostly a bit...'bad' but had some absolutely brilliant chapters/songs/moments/levels etc in it.
Which would you choose? |
Some brilliance is better than no brilliance, obviously. Why? You want to write a story and you're wondering how much effort you should put into it?
|
No not at all. Just a sort of vaguely profound thing I was thinking about in the shower, if you must know ;)
|
My lexicon designates "mediocre" and "meh" as equivalent. Thus, something with good bits in it is superior to the same without them.
Was this question supposed to require careful consideration? |
No not at all. I was just wondering what people thought, is all. What if I changed it from "meh" to "bad"? Does that change your choice, BM?
|
Basically
Watching three hours of Joey. vs Watching the Star Wars Holiday Special with a couple of really good bits towards the end. |
I liked the Holiday Special.

Aren't these things both the same i.e. average or shit+good=average?
|
They average out to be similar, yes.
