Internet Myths/ Creepypasta II

I thought we might rekindle the creepypasta thread with some new machinations of sheer terror... "The Scariest Picture on the Internet" The Scariest Picture on the Internet The story is this, in Japan shortly before a teenage girl comitted suicide, she drew this picture, scanned it and posted it online. In korea this story broke out and it spread like wildfire. There are various posts around in korean forums that say that the viewer gets drawn to the girls blue eyes, they say they can detect a hint of wraith and sadness within the eyes. Maybe the girl had died with so much sadness and anger that her spirit haunts the image, or maybe the image provoke sadness, similar to the song ‘Gloomy Sunday’. The freaky bit is this, they say it is hard for a person to stare into the girls eyes for longer than 5 minutes, there are reports that some people have taken their own lives after doing so. People say the picture changes, as you view it there is a hint of a growing taunting smirk appearing on the girls lips or a dark ring grows around the girl or her eyes. One thing is for sure, the picture has sparked a curiosity in me that I must find out, i do feel a presence when I look at the image, whether it is evil or not I can not judge. I would like to know what the global online community feels and maybe even experts in art would be able to resolve why the eyes of this image can draw the viewer in so deeply? I gotta say I love these kinda things, being creeped out and all that shit by some amateur writers. |
I can't be bothered to look at it for 5 minutes. That shit never does anything for me. I like reading the stories and getting spooked though.
I'm not sure if it would belong in this thread but there's this creepy fucking thing: http://www.thisman.org/history.htm This woman drew the face of a man who'd been appearing in her dreams, and when she showed it to others they recalled seeing him in their dreams too. He's not even violent apparently, but appears to be quite calming, which is scary as fuck, as if he's lulling you into a false sense of security. |
Yay, I love these creepypasta things. I mean, I love to read them and such and be scared afterwards. I'm a bit weird probably.
|
You guys should watch eraser head, it's not creepypasta per-say but it's scary as fuck. That fucking baby is just disgusting.
|
I'm pretty sure many have seen it. I watched it a month or two ago too, was pretty strange.
|
I'm pretty sure the "dream man" thing is fake, considering the woman who made the website is actually the director of an ad agency that specializes in making weird, viral shit like this in order to promote something.
Since the site doesn't seem to outright promote anything, she's either flexing her campaigning muscle or just doing it for giggles. There is not a single account outside of the site itself that lends credence to this "dream man". As for that "scariest picture on the internet", this is only one of about 20 proposed "scariest" pictures on the internet. This is perhaps the most underwhelming one of the bunch; a sloppy photoshop rendition of an anime chick. They say that if you stare at it long enough, it begins to change or move. But this happens if you stare at any still object for a long period of time. Eraserhead is David Lynch's keystone film. It's pretty much just stream of consciousness weirdness. It's definitely freakier than anything you'll find on the internet beyond Gurochan or Ogrish. |
Is there anything anyone can add? Anything really scary?
Also this: http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Dead_Bart It's the best Dead Bart page I ever found. |
Dead Bart is a great slice of internet fiction. I kind of wish it was real, just to see how disturbing The Simpsons can be. It's in the same vein as "Suicide Mouse". Totally made up, and the only videos you can find are poor attempts to recreate the legend by creepypasta fans.
I remember looking for it on youtube and finding some horribly garbled footage of a live action Mexican Simpsons sketch, claiming to be footage of the Dead Bart episode salvaged from a sealed crate in the company archives. If only the world we lived in was so colorful as it is on the interbutts. The problem with Dead Bart lies within The Simpsons itself. Matt Groening has always been pretty dark and subversive when he wants to be. The Simpsons as a family have been brutally murdered more than once in the Treehouse of Horror vignettes. There's no point to produce or animate this imaginary controversial episode when the show itself was already fairly controversial and well-received. |
The last two paragraphs ruined it.

Dead Bart just doesn't do it for me. I find the best creepypasta is the stuff that can either happen to you, or it's implied that it's going to happen to you at some point.
e: of course, my memory is terrible so I can't give any specific examples. |
Yeah, the short ones are mostly the creepiest. I've seen almost all of them it seems though, and OC is hard to find. I'll probably post the one I wrote soon, I dont really know how good it is, since it has been praised and shit on all at once before.

These urban legends of haunted episodes would be more effective if they applied to shows that weren't already infamous for their darkness/weirdness. This is why Suicide Mouse is more effective than Dead Bart or Ren's Suicide, because Mickey Mouse is the poster boy for family friendly media. He's never provocative or pushes the envelope, he doesn't tackle real issues like death or depression. He's just a smiling cartoon mascot thinly veiling an evil corporation. The hyper-realistic drawings described in Dead Bart are used by cartoons like Ren & Stimpy and Spongebob to accentuate a certain gross/disturbing/funny object of interest. Example: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l5...axlqo1_400.gif The Simpsons never did this, but it's cool to deconstruct where this guy who supposedly witnessed Dead Bart got his ideas. Out of context, some of these images could be very disturbing, especially if you applied some kind of long-winded explanation as to why it's the work of the devil. |
Has anyone ever written their own creepypasta? Also what defines the lines between the gothic/ horror genre and creepypasta? I never could tell.
|
Probably only those who play Minecraft will care, and they've probably already heard of him, but: HEEROOBRIINEE.
I find it a surprisingly scary story, especially because I wouldn't put it past Notch to one day add him as a rare encounter. |
:
Of course, one wonders why he removed him twice... |
When I first saw that he had 'removed Herobrine' I suspected that he had actually added him. And then, as you say, he said it again. Maybe that time he actually removed him? I never encountered Herobrine during this time, but maybe others did... and no one believed them...
|
Nikki showed me this one.
We agree it would make a good premise for a short film. :p |
Is it me or does The Channel seem to be a bit cliché? Suppose it's hard to make something that's genuinely scary these days.
|
Gay times a hundred.
|
If that channel shit happened to you, you'd shit your depends.
|
Power off.
Problem solved. Sleep. |
The funny thing is, I've read all of this.
The creepy thing is, I was thinking of making this thread earlier this morning. Well, I find pastas with demons and monsters better than stories with ghosts. And Lost episode pastas and bootleg game pastas are all the same too. Nothing really scares me anymore. It's dissapointing. If I find anything I like, I'll post it though. Also, how do I subscribe to a thread? |

Some cool pastas there. The Simpsons one freaked me out the most though. That sounds quite dark even compared to the Treehouse of Horror episodes. Also the Minecraft one was freaky. If that happened to me I'd both enjoy it and be frightened.
|
FUCKING HELL GUYS! I have the worst story to tell about what happened to me last night, it's not a creepypasta but I think it was caused by me suddenly reading/ watching loads of creepypasta's all of a sudden.
I woke up last night at about 2 AM, sort of half asleep, but totally paralysed, I couldn't move at all, it felt like I was being pinned down and my arms were spread either side of my head, apparently this is sleep paralysis and happens to a lot of people but...I shut my eyes because I was quite scared (this has never happened to me before) but when I opened them a face was staring at me, I guess that's just my sleepy brain putting an image in my head but it scared me so much I screamed, then I regained power in my arms and I could move. And I mean proper screamed by the way, I've never done that before, like, actual deep pitch AHHHHHHH! =( |
I get sleep paralysis on a fairly regular basis. It is no fucking fun whatsoever. I always dream up the strangest poems when that happens too, but I can never remember them when I wake up.
I would also like to say that none of the internet myths contained within this thread are even remotely disturbing. |
I also get sleep paralysis a couple of times every couple of months. Usually one after the other then no more for a while. If you get them you're advised not to struggle and try to remove yourself from the situation. I find that whenever I try to get out of bed I'm thrown back in.
