So apparently steam now has free games. Just wondering what everyone's opinion is?

I kinda like having a spot that gives me access to all these games. SO I'll be trying some of em.

If anyone else plans on downloading them, write here, and maybe we can meet in-game :D (Yea I know no one probably will).

I downloaded Spiral Knights which is an alright game.

I'm trying to reach the first Clockworks Terminal because you get a free TF2 Hat when you do it. I have no idea how to get there.

Are TF2 hats really that important?

I was thinking of getting spiral knights but it doesn't seem my game. Thanks for alerting me to this spot though, I will flick through suitable games later on.

They need to make a free RTS about...bees of course.

You could make it, STM... put those wonderful c++ skill to use!

Or finish the theme first. Who knows!

I could, right now I need to finish learning the more advanced aspects of C++ before I can put my knowledge to use. =)

And I swear I will try to have that theme done as soon as possible!

You guys know if Spiral Knights plays alright on older PCs? I'm thinking of downloading it. I suppose there's no harm in installing it to try for myself but it'd be nice to get some heads up before hand.

It seems that most of you are on Spiral Knights, so I might check that out.

I'm running it on the most recent Macbook and it's slightly stuttering when lots of stuff happens at once. That's only happened twice so far. EDIT: The further I'm progressing through the dungeons the more it's stuttering.

I forgot to mention before, I can also be found on Steam through the OWF group.

My steam name is silverishkitten and I tried out Spiral knights.... Its really fun, but the annoying thing is you have to spend energy to play... And once you run out you either have to wait 24 hours to get more or buy with reeeeel muney D=


Anyway atm for some reason spiral knights is giving me trouble :(

My brand new laptop can play Crysis 2 on high settings.

I think it's time I gave some Steam games a try.

Tried Spiral Knights. It's OK, not overly demanding performance-wise, so an average laptop is able to run it alright. But overall, it's not a particularly fun game for me. Perhaps if we teamed up and did some Clockworks raiding, I might change my mind about it.

Also tried Champions Online. And it's awesome. Well, it follows the average MMO concept, but character creation is amazing. And the ingame world has that cool comic book style to it which I really like. I've been throwing trashcans at insectoid aliens for at least an hour just now.

City of Heroes is apparently much better. Champions Online's ratings actually went down when it went F2P. It's worse free than it was before.

But your experience is not uncommon. After about 10 hours you'll realise that you've done everything unique and get bored. It doesn't last.

I tried Spiral Knights with a mate and we had fun, I can see it becoming really addictive. Would be fun to play with some of you guys some time too!

I wouldn't know, I haven't played CoH. And I don't play a lot of MMOs, so I suppose that's one reason why I'm not too critical about it yet. Sure, at one point I'll realise that there's nothing more to it, and I'll stop playing. It's inevitable.

Playing with friends is sure to raise the gameplay value though. I managed to meet Nexy's rather colourful robotic character this morning and we beat up some purple gang members in a park.

Making a little character, trawling through dungeons finishing little puzzles, levelling up weapons and armour etc. It's a very basic kind of MMORPG, but it's fun all the same. Still, it may not exactly be to your liking.

Spiral Knights is super fun :p Too bad about the restriction though... But I guess its part of their money-plan. The thing Ive begun to hate about Spiral Knights though, is that everyone just tries to hog everything... Theres no common decency... I actually try to show some decency by leaving some of the item to float for the other players... I guess I shouldn't :p

Champions has amazing Character creaton, which is really what sold it to me :p

The most common name people give me is weird lantern clown fish :p But that's because I spent hours trolling the in-game club, by roleplaying as an obnoxious girl with an ego too high.

I'll probly get bored of it... But who knows... It may actually stick. But I tend to leave games alone after a while.

Champions Online. Despite my earlier complaints, it still begrudgingly accept that you can boot it up and be laughing your head off in about two minutes.
