Wait ...

These forums are 10 years old ... Alcar is 24 ... Did Alcar make these forums or did someone else make them and hand them over to Alcar?

Nate 06-05-2011 02:02 AM

Alcar didn't start the forums. He just stole them from the (gender neutral term) person who did. But looking back on it now, he was freakishly young at the time.

Mudokon_Master 06-05-2011 02:05 AM

When did he get it from the creator?

Nate 06-05-2011 02:09 AM

Fucked if I know. I was on an off period at the time.

Mudokon_Master 06-05-2011 02:11 AM

Alright, fair enough ...

Alcar 06-05-2011 03:10 AM

I'll have you know I'm 23.

Alcar...

About the time I joined, I think, though I was hidden in fancorner and oblivious to all. There was an epic war and more than 40,000 people were killed before the tyrannical rule of Sydney could be brought to a close.

There are tons of threads detailing these events, so try searching the forums for 'Sydney' and 'the glass asylum' if you want to know more.

Wil 06-05-2011 05:25 AM

17 August 2002 was when Sydney was removed from power. Can't think how long the drama went on for.

Manco 06-05-2011 05:35 AM

I have to wonder how the transfer of ownership went.

I wasn't around at the time, but from what I gather it wasn't a particularly happy transfer of power, so how did things like domain ownership, hosting payments etc. work out? Did Alcar steal her identity or something?

STM 06-05-2011 06:36 AM

The Oddworld Forums needs a proper segmented history with cool period names and shit.

Like, the Neo-Alcarian Age of '08-'11

Wil 06-05-2011 08:06 AM

By the time of the split, Pilot was hosting the complete OWF on his server, so there was no need to transfer that data at that point. As for the domain name, I think Abe Babe was the one who registered it in the first place—OWF hasn't always had this domain name.

STM 06-05-2011 08:43 AM

Don't we have citizensiege.net as well? Dunno why, seems a waste of money since it's never going to be made.

Wil 06-05-2011 10:16 AM

We're still the best place on all of the internet to discuss Citizen Siege, and considering, in Peter's words

I think it'll be renewed again this August. We've already lost the wagewarsforums.net and manchineforums.net addresses.

This thread makes me think of the good old days when I was new to the forum.

You're still new.

I didn't specify the year did I?

I didn't specify the year did I?

Well your join date did.

MrGothmog666 06-05-2011 12:29 PM

My join date is in May.
I registered in April.

Why did you register that one?

My join date is in May.
I registered in April.

Great. Still doesn't change the year though does it?

MrGothmog666 06-05-2011 12:34 PM

No, but it changes your argument.

No, but it changes your argument.

How does it?
I wasn't on about the month was I?
Even if you did register in May, you're still new.

MrGothmog666 06-05-2011 12:37 PM

But I didn't register in May. I registered in April.
So don't use the join date as your argument.

I'm not even going to bother any more since you're just being stupid. Being new doesn't make you any different, but you're defending it as if it means you're a lesser person. Also, I don't care what month you joined or whatever, I was on about the year I've tried to make it obvious for you.

"Being new doesn't make you any different, but you're defending it as if it means you're a lesser person."
Where the fuck did you get that bullshit from
And yes, it is obvious that you were arguing about the fucking year. You used my join date to prove that I registered in 2011, I proved that it is invalid because it says I registered in may when I registered in april.

Just because the month was 1 out, doesn't mean the year is wrong does it?

MrGothmog666 06-05-2011 12:51 PM

Yes it does, because MrGothmog666 registered in May.
I registered in April.

Manco 06-05-2011 12:54 PM

So what you're saying is... you're not MrGothmog666?
