Oddworld Roleplay: Bleezle's Factory Auction
In order to take part in this roleplay, simply post the following;
Name: (Your character name) Species: (Mainly Glukkon, Vykker or Elite Slig) Budget: $50,000 (Don't change this figure) Detail: (What makes your character different from everyone else) To bid, simply perform any action followed by bid in brackets, for example: Brad jumps up in the air and yells "Hey!". (BID) Rules: - Out of 10 possible sales, you can participate in a maximum of 6 sales. - I am allowing teamwork. This means if two people want to share a particular sale "like 200 mudokon slaves", they could pool together $51,000 and ensure a guaranteed victory. - When bidding stops, I will say "Going Once", "Going Twice" and then "Sold". There will be a 30 minute gap between each statement, giving everyone time to bid. =*= (My character) Name: General Flace Species: Slig Commander (Order of Dranzig, First Class) Budget: $50,000 Detail: Flace joined the army as a young slig and quickly rose through the ranks and is now Commander of the Dranzig Slig Army. He participated in the Rebel Raid attack of Fengfort and the Fifth Slig war. He is probably the richest and most elite slig in the entire Mudos region. He mainly wants to purchase powerful weaponry to increase the power of his army. OOC: When at least three people sign up, the auction will begin. Enjoy! |

Species: Glukkon Budget: $50,000 Detail: Mysterious. Proud. Tragic. With strong connections in the Glukkon elite, Pilluk rose quickly to power, but lost his wealth in Glukkington gambling dens. Fired from his job and barely escaping Queen Margaret with his life, Pilluk seeks to regain his fortune by trading, by wheelin' and deelin' in valuable antiques. |

Species: Slig Budget: $50,000 Detail: Wearing a tuxedo to look his best in front of everbody at the auction, Morbon is in financial trouble. His bar went out of buisness after the destruction of Soulstorm Brewery. Using a loan he plans to buy some items here to sell off for a profit so he can earn money again. PS: This should have been made in Oddworld RPG. |

Name: Levitica Speices: Glukkon Budget: £50,000 Detail: Levitica is a Chump, though you'd never say it to his face, a salesman of elum chubs in some barren city, he has travelled long and far for this special auction in the hope he will find some rarities to add to his growing collection of artefacts and unique items.. |
This seems like an experiment. One which I will gladly participate in.
Name: Ez E. Monet Species: Vykker Budget: $50,000 Detail: A strangely deep-voiced Vykker, with only mild insanity issues, and a surprisingly calm demeanor. Unfortunately, this does not sit well on his resume, which explains why he is only employed a few places. Hoping that he will be able to find something of worth here, and get a grasp for how one should auction things, due to his similarities to Headly the Vykker auctioneer. |

PS If any Admin feels this belongs in the RPG board, they are welcome to move it. I made it here because I wasn't 100% sure if it qualified as a RPG. Rules: You can only sabotage the same person a maximum of three times (and only once per each item auctioned). IC: "Welcome, welcome, one and all!" said the smartly dressed Vykker. "As I'm sure you all know, my name is Bleezle and this is my auctionhouse. For those who don't know, we sort out the problems of bankrupted business and dissolved economy by selling off all those unmentionables and paraphernalia that no-one else wants" He left a gap, so that those listening could gasp at the fact that he used such a long word as "paraphernalia", without even knowing what it means. "There are ten different things for sale today. Some living, some inanimate, some expensive, some cheap 'n tacky, it's all here! "First lot for sale is, ah, the small order of business of 200 mudokon slave workers" Bleezle takes a piece of paper and reads. "200 hard working slaves, definitely no chanters, escapees or ex-mercenaries... how reassuring..." He chuckles. "Okay, let the bidding begin. Who will bid $10k?" IC: (ac for action, ta for talk, bd for bid, sa for sabotage) [ac] General Flace picks up 6 bidding tokens. [ta] Flace raises his hand, "Yeah, I'll bid for that" [bd] General Flace bids $10k. [sa] General Flace places pepper on Pilluk's table discreetly and chuckles. General Flace, Remaining Bidding Tokens: [5] |
IC: Looking up from his light daydream, obviously containing a disection of something very fidgety, Ez heard the first item up for grabs. Pondering for a short moment if 200 mudokon slaves were really worth it, he sat in deep thought for a while. Deciding it was not really the sort of thing he really needed, he decided he would only bid a little bit. But then he remembered the bidding tokens, and decided to just hold his peace, and go back to his daydream.

Levitica peered over hos counterparts, he'd never seen a slig bid before, only as a valet to more established glukkons...such as himself, today however he hadn't brought any company along for he so detested the spawn that resided in his factory, barely able to calm themselves labourers. When two hundred mudokons entered the bidding area Levitica's eyes narrowed, he had ample stock as it was and he could them cheap from any barracks, ten thousand seemed steep.
"Any injuries?" He pressed, "Because an injury would bring the prices crashing down to about £400," [ac] Levitica picks up bidding token. |
Morbon scratches his head wondering what use 200 muds could possibly be. Could they help him set up a new buisness? Or could they be sold for a profit. After seeing the Glukkons having quite conversations beetween each other.
[ta]Morbon raises his hand and shouts "I'll bid!" He then gets on the floor and opens his suitcase to count the cash. |

IC: Flace tutted and muttered, "Ode, do these newbies think the Vykkers would honestly sell defective goods at that price? Use your noggin..." Bleezle turned around and smiled at Levitica. "Well let's see now shall we?", Bleezle took out his monocle and read through a long list of 200 employee names. "Abel, Acer, Arnold... (he reads through a lot of names) Yaxley, Zebedee... Nope, they all seem fine. Unless you count Mark's slight cold?" Bleezle looked around the room. "Okay, so we have Flace's bid here..." (Flace nods his head) "Any other bids for 200 mudokon slaves? Oh, Morbon. Okay. Price is now $12k!" Flace smiled, "I bid $14k!" OOC: Anyone else want to bid? |
Morbon closes his suitcase and raises it in the hair. He bangs it with his hand to get attention and shouts.

IC: Bleezle heard Morbon's voice. "Okay, so we have another bid from Morbon. Price is now $16k! How about you Flace?" Bleezle looked in Flace's direction for a reaction.
Flace shook his head, meaning that he wasn't going to bid again. Bleezle smiled, "Bidding rests with Morbon at $16k. Going once..." (Potential bidders have 30 minutes to respond) |
Levitica look despondent and practically deflated.
"No bid then, too expensive, I can get 'em £400 bumper pack at the barracks." |
Morbon hugs his suitcase tightly and closes his eyes wondering if he will get the bid.

I'm going to join! Name: Commander Tygrig Species: Glukkon Budget: $50,000 Detail: Has a lot of medals, and is the main commander of SligStryke. He is not very good with money, and he likes to buy most things that seems vaguely good... IC: [ac]Picks up his bidding tokens. [ta]Loudly calls out, "ME!". He smiles, hoping for winning the 200 muds. [bd]Commander Tygrig bids $17k. |
Morbid shakes his head and gets on the floor to put the cash back in his suitcase.

IC: Bleezle notices another Glukkon placing a bid. "Tygrig bids $17k! Any other takers?"
Flace whispers to Morbon. "Word of advice, keep the money in the case until the auction's over, it's much easier that way" (Bidding extended another 30 minutes) "Going once, going twice..." (Last chance to bid for 200 mudokons) |
Morbon whispers to Flace "This isn't my money, it's a loan. I plan to use this money so I can pay off this loan and start earning money again. I was living off the money I had earned from running my bar. But Soulstorm Brewery was destroyed which meant I had no supply and then no customers. I don't have much money left so I need to start earning again. I need to buy something here and use it fr my own good or sell it again so I can earn"

IC: Bleezle smirked, "Sooooooooooooooold to Tygrig for $17k! 200 mudokons will be heading your way very soon. Moving on to our next item, we have 30 crates of grenades. These grenades are brand new and are manufactured by Regal Arms who are one of the top companies for munitions. Let's start the bidding at $6k!"
Flace looked at Morbon, "Well, this auction's gonna test your business skills. Best of luck" 'Grenades huh?', Flace thought to himself. He raised his hand. Bleezle looked over to him, "A starting bid of $6k for the grenades. Any other takers?" |
IC: Tygrig grinned having won 200 muds for $17k. It was a great purchase for him as many casualties had been occurring recently involving electric fences.
Tygrig thought about the grenades for a moment. He then remembered about the grenades that he already had at SligStryke. He decided to not bother bidding for the grenades. OOC: With the $17k, I assume that comes off the $50k that Tygrig previously had right? I suppose I should keep track! :p |
Morbon thinks to himself "I'm sure I could make a good profit from those grenades"
[ta]Bangs suitcase and shouts "ME!!! MEE!!!!" |
IC: Flace grinned, if those nades were worth about $12k, he was going to try a bit harder.
"I'm also bidding!" Bleezle jumped up and down, "$8k with Morbon, Flace bids $10k, do I hear $12k?" Bleezle looks around the room a few times. |
Morbon swings his suitcase around and accadently hits flace.

"12 'kay'" the hushed whispers were shattered by the gruff voice of Levitica, "12 kay no higher."

IC: Bleezle clears his throat. "That's two bids at $12k. Anyone care to go a little higher?" Bleezle waves his hammer.
