Have you made this topic because of what I said in that comment on my blog post?

Well anyway. As I stated before in the Sex thread I think. Or it was Knocked Up. I can't remember.

If me and my boyfriend are together long enough we would like to start a family. That family consisting of a Dodge Challenger SRT8 and a Hummer H3. Our dream cars :D We hate children................

Is there really much point to this thread? We already have Knocked Up.

STM 05-14-2011 12:33 PM

Bit early for a lot of people to be thinking about that surely? I dislike other people's children but want some of my own some day, if anything to carry on the family name.

JennyGenesis 05-14-2011 12:36 PM

I'm the only one to carry on my family name which is a bit anoying because I think it would be nice for my family name to continue. Though there is only a 1% chance it will happen.....................

Wings of Fire 05-14-2011 12:36 PM

I like children. I want some.

CrissCross 05-14-2011 12:37 PM

yeah i woud like to have children in the future as well

and if i have a boy i would name it james (after my father)

Wings of Fire 05-14-2011 12:39 PM

If I had a boy I'd let my wife name it, I'm really shit with names and I don't want to risk putting the poor thing through years of bullying.

Not my choice not my responsibility!

CrissCross 05-14-2011 12:42 PM

i go to school with a guy named massey ferguson (if you dont know what that is it's a brand of tractor) and i guy named eric son

im not blaming the parents but wouldn't you realize that that they would get mocked at school

I always used to get called Roary the Racing Car at school because of my first name. I always used to laugh at them though because it's spelt differently.
I guess they should find a way to ignore it if the name just happens to refer to something.

JennyGenesis 05-14-2011 01:04 PM

I remember looking through a baby names book once and came across Gaylord.......Who one earth would ever subject their child to that name?........... I know gay means happy but imagine how much bullying that poor child would recieve.

Alcar 05-14-2011 01:21 PM

At least it's not Gaylord Focker. Fuck I'm hilarious.

I require at least two children. However, I could be persuaded to give them up for something less time consuming.

Alcar...

CrissCross 05-14-2011 01:33 PM

i think 3 would be a good number of children

Wings of Fire 05-14-2011 01:38 PM

Two

A boy and a girl. They could fight. That'd be awesome.

JennyGenesis 05-14-2011 01:44 PM

Make them play Mortal Kombat before they start fighting.

Social Learning Theory eh? I like your style mister.

CrissCross 05-14-2011 01:54 PM

then put them in a forest full of alive trees so they can have funny stage fatalties and get eaten by man eating trees =D

Nah, have the Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Hell stage. That stage fatality is cooler because it has the "Crispy!" easter egg.

touche

but anyway back on subject what would you guys name your kids?

JennyGenesis 05-14-2011 02:13 PM

I think Jenifer would be appropiate if I had a girl.

CrissCross 05-14-2011 02:20 PM

if i had a girl i would call her sabrina (it reminds me of the old programme :))

DarkHoodness 05-14-2011 02:40 PM

You guys are gonna troll me for going against human nature, but what the hell.

Isn't it ironic that we're culling other species (such as deer) to "keep their numbers to a manageable size for the benefit of nature", but we're not stopping reproducing ourselves despite how much damage we're doing? One of the main reasons we're having so many problems in this day and age is simple - There are too many humans and the environment cannot cope with it.

I'm not suggesting we kill everyone, that would be stupid. But we could do with not reproducing for a couple of generations - But like that's going to happen. I don't want to produce my own kids for the simple reason of not wanting to contribute to this problem - Every little helps. I'd rather adopt some poor parent-less sod instead who already exists if I really felt the urge to raise a child of my own.

Maybe I should sterilise myself like my brother in law did - Sex is good, but condoms are uncomfortable to wear. And yes, "remove my idiocy from the gene pool" as some of you may tell me now.

EDIT: Didn't intend to sound that menacing.

Really? In my experience only ribbed and dotted (Durex Pleasuremax to be precise) have been uncomfortable to wear.

It's as I've said before somewhere, perhaps even to you, I can't remember - condoms are like wrapping cellophane around your damned tongue before tasting an awesome meal. I find all of them to be uncomfortable - And agreed with you, Pleasuremax being the most uncomfortable.

Sure there are other forms of contraception but they're all inconvenient in some way, and none of them are totally risk-free. Raising a child that you never really wanted to have in the first place seems like it would be a massive burden. Maybe this is the wrong topic for this, though.

metroixer 05-14-2011 04:39 PM

I don't like kids and I don't plan on having one but if I do you bet I'm going to turn into a big emotional manchild.

God help me if it's a girl

CrissCross 05-14-2011 04:52 PM

i definitely want a boy (then we can bond :D)

Strike Witch 05-14-2011 05:46 PM

I think they're adorable, but I'm a huge worrywart.

Maybe I'll adopt when I'm 40 or something and hugely rich. (har)

enchilado 05-14-2011 05:49 PM

Speaking of awful names, there's a kid who lives near us infamously named Rescue C. Hopper.

moxco 05-14-2011 05:51 PM

I would like perhaps two children to carry on my (rather horrible) name and (equally horrible) DNA.

Assuming a couple only has two children they can hardly be blamed for overpopulating. To sustain a population on average people should be having 2.33 children (two to replace their parents and the rest to make up for the sex ratio and people who die before fertility). Although as we are approaching seven billion sustaining a population isn't enough we need to cut. And considering there are people in third world countries who are on average having 7 children cutting back wont be easy.

Oh and it would be rather selfish to adopt when you are fully capable of reproducing. These days orphanages aren't overflowing with unwanted children; there are more people wanting to adopt than children up for adoption.

Steamer_KING 05-14-2011 05:56 PM

I want to have kids, my girlfriend already said that we're getting 2, a boy and a girl. I actually like the idea, of being father, but just on the right time.
