Stranger's Wrath

I got MO and SW on Steam the first day they came out, 3 hours after they came out...which turned out to be a bad idea, since they were all bug-ridden. Neither of them works on my 2008 Acer Laptop, which is installed with Windows Vista, despite loading Steam's updates.

Help...?

(Embarrassing. First day on the Oddworld Forums in 6 months and I'm asking for help.)

What sort of problems are you having? Also, did you check the Steam forums? Many of the common problems and fixes are listed there in the sticky topics.

Welcome back Lord Stanley! We missed you and I think that's been happening to a lot of people. They're meant to have fixed it by now but ... I can't help you, sorry.

It feels good to be back among the land of the fanfics and foulmouths! Cheers!

Well, primarily, it won't start. MO just blinks black screens at me, SW gets stuck on the LOADING screen at the beginning.

You could try the common troubleshooting steps of making sure your graphics drivers are up to date and verifying your files. Can you run other recent 3D games?

If you're hearing the game sound okay when this happens, it's probably because your graphics card/chip/hamster wheel doesn't properly support OpenGL. Intel chips are bad for this.

MO works on my 2005 Windows XP desktop computer. SW still does the get-stuck-at-loading thing.
