Oddworld anti-nwo?
I was reading about what is known about Citizen Siege's plot, and i noticed how it relates to the New World Order conspiracy. Also in all the Oddworld games the enemy is some big mega-corporate entinty. Concidence? or is Lorne trying to tell us something
i've read this over and over so many times and i still dont know what youre talking about
well, do some research on it
If you're friends with Lorne on Facebook, you'll see that the few things he posts tend to be about such topics. So, yes.
hmm, i need to make a facebook then...
Don't worry. You're not really missing anything. He never posts about anything Oddworldy.
I'd still like to know if my favorite videogame artist is indeed anti-nwo :)
I find the way you phrase that perplexing. I'm anti-NWO myself, I just don't think that such a thing exists or could exist.

I always assumed the main statement the games were making was about the negative impacts environmentally, socially and morally, that "mega corporations" have on us. Where the NWO comes into this, I don't know
Mega corporations figure in New World Order conspiracy theories. The statements made in the game thus far have mostly been about bad corporate practices, yes, but I think as we move further down the food chain—from factories to cities, from manufacturers to consumers—we're also going to be uncovering ever-higher rungs of society that are controlling the way things are. Lorne said pretty much as much in his interview with Nate. Quite how far this will lead into NWO stuff I don't know, but I'm not going to be the one betting against it.
I think he is more or less basing it around an (exaggerated) view of corporations and capitalism. In Oddworld the Glukkons don't care about any of the people or other life forms, nor the environment and care only about profit.
Anyway the NWO conspiracy stuff is nonsense, but maybe Lorne does believe in it? Personally even though conspiracy theories annoy the hell out of me, the game is good so as long as it isn't openly promoting these theories I don't mind. |
how is it non-sense when president obama goes to the UK and gives a speech about America's place in the New World Order, before you dismiss stuff, do your homework on it.
:
And it goes even further than that. Lorne is just casting light on these issues in a way which can be brushed off as 'fictional/creative storyline.' Take what you will. Yes, Oddworld is very Anti-NWO, anti-religious, and Pro-Mysticism. |

Why does BM speak in such serious terms when we're cutting up and being jerks, but cuts up when we're having a serious discussion?
Troll. |
Ridicule is the only suitable response to claims that Obama is part of a great, powerful and secret multinational conspiracy who yaps about it in speechs on official foreign visits.
I’m going to (not very) pre-emptively state that any ‘serious discussion’ on the ‘facts’ of New World Order conspiracy theories should take place in Off-Topic Discussion, not this thread.
does anyone know what Lorne's religion is?

I always thought oddworld games had more of a revolution feel to them, but then again, NWO fite them pretty well too.
Unless revolution and NWO are the same thing. Then I'm just babbling again. |
He's not religious. He states himself as being Neo-Shaman.
I expected him to be Buddhist for some reason...although Buddhism is really an ideology.
I saw him as having a native-american complex, that we are all equal and shit like that.
