Sprawling Dictatorship or Liberal Democracy?

So I thought perhaps an interesting topic would be a gauge of political ideology, what would be the best political backbone for a country?

I put forward to you all that in fact, socialism, works the best and if built up correctly would be a long lasting, successful and happy community however, to secure this, one would have to impose the factor that to keep a country anything, it has to be a dictatorship which naturally, most of the Western World resents.

scrabface 02-25-2011 01:57 PM

Nah this is all bullshit. I think humans today have too many flaws, so there is no acceptable form of government. democracy only works, because it's built up on capitalism which enables the West to exploit developing countries. I am inside this system, so I can pretend to live in an acceptable, working society, but if we would cut loose of all the developing countries and Africa, we all would have to change our way of life dramatically. no country's autarkic, only maniacs like North-Korea, but even not them.

Sprawling dictatorship will be the best, mainly for me and those who enforce my brutal rule. My quality of living will vastly improve as the resources keeping my cronies happy are redirected back to me, as said lackeys are gradually and systematically replaced by various robots, corpse cyborgs and fish-ape hybrid mutants.

Take a tip from us. Ireland knows how to get the job done.

Socialism is a shit form of government. How would you plan to initially nationalise every thing? Happily haggle with the current shareholders like all past socialist/communist dictators?

Dixanadu 02-25-2011 02:18 PM

The only thing it promotes is patriotism and hatred for any country who doesn't agree with your viewpoints.

That's pretty much the story with every country, except Canada. They like everyone.

Privatise everything? What?

moxco 02-25-2011 02:32 PM

Whoops that was a strange typo.

Nate 02-25-2011 03:30 PM

In theory, benevolent dictatorship.

MarsMudoken 02-25-2011 05:55 PM

This is my vision.

Wow

You uh

You totally missed the point of socialism huh?

MarsMudoken 02-25-2011 08:24 PM

Well he got the part about Canada being awesome. I congratulate him on that.

Strike Witch 02-25-2011 09:29 PM

I always figured a dictatorship was worse because it all rests on one human, and since humans are indeed only human, there's more chance of things all going to hell then with democracy, because democracy has more checks and balances and more people involved in it.

That's just the way I look at it.

Mac Sirloin 02-25-2011 10:43 PM

We do not have a word or term for what the perfect form of social rule would be for us.

Phylum 02-25-2011 10:44 PM

A dictatorship would be better with the perfect dictator, but that would have to be a computer or something.

moxco 02-25-2011 11:04 PM

...because computers are 100% reliable and would be capable of handling the lives of many millions of people?

Phylum 02-25-2011 11:25 PM

The potential for them to be more capable than humans is there.

Havoc 02-26-2011 02:15 AM

Democracy because it's the only fair form. Let the people decide how they want to mess up their country, instead of just one person doing it for them.

Yes. It would be a perfect computer.

Doy.

moxco 02-26-2011 03:24 AM

As opposed to a perfect human? Neither exist.

STM 02-26-2011 03:52 AM

You could have no government, a utopian anarchy would work probably, at least, if you brainwashed the negative people of society so crime was non-existent.

Wings of Fire 02-26-2011 04:01 AM

This must be how BM feels when people think they're talking science.

STM 02-26-2011 04:02 AM

Or how I feel when people try to sound stupid. I know stupid gurdammit!

The emancipation of labour from alienating work?

All they want is to bring social organization up to the level of current technological progress to fully take advantage of modern technology.

Is that such a bad thing?

Daxter King 02-26-2011 09:05 AM

Obama clearly added the SR to the US, amirite dixandu?

Dixanadu 02-26-2011 12:04 PM

You bet your hairy arse you are.

Havoc 02-26-2011 12:29 PM

Comparing Obama's plans to the USSR is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

MarsMudoken 02-26-2011 01:19 PM

That's a lie, and you know it. You want stupid, just read my posts.

And frankly, I'm still thinking the best government would just be to make me King Of The World. A Moronship.

STM 02-26-2011 02:37 PM

Like the Emperor of the Earth, yer then we can go kill Orks. In retrospect, as long as he was benevolent, why the fuck not, I wouldn't mind.

Strike Witch 02-26-2011 05:12 PM

The correct title is God-Emperor Of All Mankind.
