What could the future hold?
What do you want/expect to happen in the next 100 years or so?
Personally I'm still waiting for that Wild Stallyns album. |
War, natural disasters, another economic meltdown, America's right wing continues unabated along the road past madness and into ultra-madness until the US "does a Rome".
This is also the century in which the frozen lizard people army defrosts and emerges to conquer humanity, only to find that we've already been conquered by land pirates. |
its like stupid thiknin bout footure cuz we all goinna dye in 2012
ney,the 2029 the huge meteor size of 9 km will pass near earth, and if it passess near a keyhole the gravitational pull will slightly curve the meteors travel and 7 years afther he will go into straight coallision with earth,hm im looking for something like better computers,or an unlimited hardrive :D

You do know that I was trolling?
In the future trolls get trolled by people who don't know that trolls are trolling.
Damn. So the future is really here already, huh.
Haven't you been paying attention to any electronics advertisements? The future is now.

I'm hoping that the terrestrial planet finder or something similar finds signs of life (unlikely I know but I can always hope)

You're welcome.
I want to live in a neon city like tron.
I'll make it if I have to |
I'm waiting on space colonisation.
I want to live in a neon city in space
Lots of technological developments, population increase will signal for the construction of a generation ship or oceanic colonization. Wal-Marts will become city-straddling monstrosities that dominate much of the landscape around them. Media will become more savage, lots of stupid young people will become stupider adults, we'll make first contact with something or other. Any subsurface oceans on Europa will be used for Terrestrial use.
All I'm hoping for is the technology to download our brains into computers or some sort of mass brain hub to come out before I die.
Im just hoping for close ups of Gliese.
As far-fetched as it may seem, I want the technology to enter your own mind, like in Psychonauts. I know this sounds silly, and probably wouldn't ever happen (if not, then not for a very long time), but it would be so cool.
Im hoping for space colonization, the moon or Mars, I dont really care, but it would be cool.
I could possibly hold down a successful job and a healthy relationship. I could learn new things, develop previously acquired skills and use said skills to pursue something that I've always wanted to do. Reality is though, that I'm going to end up lonely in a dead-end job with nothing to do as the human population steadily climbs to a point where cannibalism is in order to survive because there just isn't enough food to go around.
I'm expecting a disease to wipe out a fucking huge chunk of humanity.
Swine flu was handled really poorly and spread like wildfire. |
I hope disease does kill most of us. We deserve to do die. And then we achieve world peace. That's really what I seriously want.
:
I absolutely don't. I'll isolate myself in the arctic if I have to. Anything to survive.
What I'm getting at is that a lot of people either believe or hope in a mass wipe of humanity through some form of disease epidemic thing.
What they don't think about is whether they will be part of the surviving group or not. I bet in everyone's fantasy they will be, but there's a bigger chance they wont than they will :-/ Also, does one deserve to be part of the surviving group? What useful assets does one have to a fresh start of the world? |
I'm going to take a bunch of airborne and hide out in a cave while the world ends. I'll be fine.
:
Also, if you apply Murphy's law to your hope, only the good people would die, all the ones left would be dicks and bitches. So me. Ha. |
I doubt I'd be one of the survivors.
It's fucking terrifying to think about the fear after a huge outbreak of something starts. It'd be even more terrifying when you started to fall ill and knew that you'd almost certainly die. |
In the next 100 years, I will grow old and die.
