What is the image of on Dripik's medal?
http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/...=RAAE0036.jpg1
Hey, I was looking at this picture in the library, looking at the medals on Dripik and was wondering what the one to the furthest left is of. It looks sort of like the face of a character off a cartoon network cartoon. Can anyone shed some light on what it's meant to be? Maybe some sort of easter egg/ inside joke? |
It's a caricature of Farzad Varahramyan.
|
(The artist who designed Dripik, as well as most of the high-ranking Glukkons and various other things)
|
Hmm. Never knew that. Cool.
|
i've never notice that before.
And they say you learn something new every day :tard: |
Huh I've never seen this before.
Or I might have read the explanation before and forgot. I'm not a walking encyclopedia like some of you. |
its Ed!
|
The same caricature can be seen in the margin of one of the pages in the art book.
|
And on The Brewmaster's watch.
If anyone's curious, the top of the caricature's head, hairline and left side of the face form the elongated 'F' Farzad signs his name with. EDIT: Normally. For the medal it's been flipped. |
Show me a picture of the Brewmaster's watch with the Farzad caricature on it.
|
It's in the CG renders. Maybe not the AE cutscenes.
|
I only remember the Brewmaster having a Mickey Mouse watch in the production art.
|
I'll look in the art book. It says about how they replaced the Mickey Mouse with a picture of Farzad to avoid copyright issues, and I remember seeing his picture on the watch in the CG render.
I'll tell you the page when I find it. |

I know what page he's talking about, it's the same one that describes the brewmaster's character and such.
Despite the fact that the page SAYS Farzad was put on the watch, you can't see it anywhere on the CG stills. I have a feeling it was some sort of mistake in the writing. |
Like shock rockers?
|
If you look carefully at Abe's chest tattoo in AE cutscenes, the same (but stylised) caricature is visible.
