Oddworld copyright infringement (on youtube)?
 

Hi all, I spotted this youtube page with links to download Abe's Oddysee. Total download looks to be about 110 MB, is that about the size of Oddysee compressed under RAR?

If so, perhaps a forum member knows how to alert someone from OWI so they can take a look at this and claim copyright infringement?

not much harder, theres tons of videos and links out there, seriously, type in "download oddworld for free" in youtube and you wont believe all the stuff that comes up!

Anyway what option of "flagging" do you guys use?

i use spam, and then scams/fruad.

Didn't make it any bit harder at all unless one reports every individual site and torrent holder, piracy happens, it's a simple task to type in "Oddworld torrent" and you'll get an array of options. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying the removal of one link is not going to make it any bit easier or difficult to attain the thousands of other illegal download options available.

The difference it will make is with people who stumble across the video on YouTube by chance and suddenly learn or are reminded to pirate the games. Anyone setting out to download them for free wouldn't even have to go to Google. That doesn't mean that the relevant authorities should sit back and watch people announce the procedure to everyone.

well when i looked around the net i saw a site with atleast 13 sites to download oddworld games and oddworld oddboxx

Sincerely, once something has been put out there, I believe it belongs to everyone. But the profits should still go to the actual makers, so that their work is rewarded. And unlike abandonware, Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus can still be purchased legally.
