New Oddmobb.com
I'm not sure if anybody else has noticed yet, but Oddmobb.com has been updated, and now gives a little info on the company and it's employees! It doesn't look like we'll be getting any substantial announcements until sometime in 2011 though.
What do you think so far? |
Yeah, I just noticed that too. Still a bit mysterious, but that social networking thing that had been rumored so much looks to be a definite.
|
Nice find. Nothing there we didn't already know but it's great to know they're doing something. I wonder how often their newsletters go out.
Oh and their symbol annoyingly reminds me of the MasterChef symbol. |
Nice to see the link you get in their subscription confirmation email is broken.
|
I'm trying to share the site on Facebook, but all the images have been made background reasons for reasons I can't fathom, so I can't include a thumbnail. Which makes it look boring.
Apart from that, good job OddMobb team! |
:
EDIT: Huh, apparently the new logo's called "Oddbug". Interesting I guess? |
That doesn't allow you to add it as a thumbnail when sharing a link on Facebook.
|
I've got no idea how Facebook works, I just assumed you needed an image file to upload or something.
How do Facebook thumbnails work, then? |
When sharing a link, Facebook takes a look at that address and lets you use as a thumbnail any images it can find. It ignores background images, and it doesn't let you specify a custom image.
|
Sober, yet good looking site. Glad to see things are moving on the OddMobb front too.

Hmm, all very myesterious
|
Oh good it's finally up. Their logo certainly looks.. interesting. The characters look... asian somehow. And the symbol kinda looks like a helmet. Let's speculate wildly about this
|
...Let's actually not
|
Helmets? Asian-looking type?
Calling it now, Oddmobb is taking over Takeshi's Castle. |
The legs of the Oddbug—the 'spikes' of the 'helmet'—to me look like nodes on a graph, joined by a stylized network that forms the letters O and M.
The lilac colour is there because lilac incited people to spend time on social networking sites. It's proven. |

Me too...
OddMobb site doesn't teach us anything... and speculation over a logo seems a bit pointless. |
