New Stranger's Remastering Dev Diary
Awesome! thanks Xavier
So can anyone else not hear any of audio that's apparently meant to be in this entry?
Ahem, it seems the plugin has "issues" with some browsers, DAMN!
Works all fine for me, and sounds damn fine.
All right, so I tried in Internet Explorer, and the audio at least plays, but clicking the play button on any piece of audio starts it playing, but also simultaneously starts the piece of audio above it playing, too.
But it really is sounding great, every single remastered clip really feeling polished and full of life. :D EDIT: Scratch that, it's not the audio above that plays, it's the audio that was last played. |
:
Great to see how much of an overhaul everything's getting, I so hope this ends up on Xbox as well. |
Figures that my audio drivers would go on the fritz the moment this was released. :(
Listening to this clip reminds me of how much I fucking loathe those Clakkers. Glad they're doing something about the sound quality, though. That was one of the drawbacks of the game, made you feel like you were hearing it out of a tin can.
I dunno, in a way it kind of added to the "rustic" feel of the first half of the game.
That's not to say the new audio won't be an improvement. |
I have to say that when I bought the game, I was absolutely shocked by how bad the audio was. This is a much needed improvement.
:
I had the same issue as you in IE though. |
When I was playing the game I didn't realise how bad the sound quality was, but when I listened to the clips on that diary I did. That's a massive difference!

Really? The voices sounded like they were being delivered via string and tin can.
I had a crappy tv at the time... so I was kind of used to it.
I remember thinking it sounded like a talking action figure that had gotten wet or been dropped one time too many.
