Oddworld Doom
I had an idea of a mod for the game Doom. Playing Oddworld as an FPS would be awesome. But it will probably take a while so done expect it to be finished in a while.
I'm trying to implement the Oddworld like feel in the mod as well by adding mudokons to rescue (due to the old engine you will probably only be able to touch them to rescue them) which will take alot of looking up to do. Here are some stuff I'd like to put in the mod. -New difficulty settings X -New weapons X -New monsters (sligs, scrabs, paramites, glukkons) X|O -Mudokons to save O -New TITLEPIC and CREDIT screens (game's startup screen and credit screen) X|O -50 Awesome levels X -Oddworld-type textures and flats X -New sounds X -Cool map names X X = Things I can do O = Things I need to find out how to do X|O = Things I can do but might not be too good because of my limited tools. Note that when I've done all the stuff except the maps it will be pretty close to finished. |
Holy fuck good idea and what's even better is that it's actually very possible even for a kid like me!

I could make a demonstration of it by next week. I know I can achieve this but Game Maker 8 offers very shitty graphics even if you do have good sprites and textures ...

TITLEPIC
Due to the lack of colours of the Doom pallette I will have to find out what shade of purple works. I mean look at the TITLEPIC at the moment, it doesn't look too good.
Edit: Since the recolouring would take ages I've decided to make the Oddworld glowing bit black & white. Don't worry it looks pretty good in-game. I've replaced the old picture with the new one. Check it out. |
