OWI working on new game unrelated to JAW
 

According to thegamingliberty.com, in an upcoming interview with Oddworld music composer Michael Bross, it has been revealed that the composer has been at work on something coming directly from Oddworld Inhabitants themselves.
Details are sparse but if the source is to be trusted, it means OWI has been at work on their own title completely unrelated to the six additional Oddworld games announced by JAW.

We already know they're working on The Antisocial Network, so this doesn't necessarily have to be related to a completely new Oddworld game as conveniently as the website points out, Mr. Bross simply mentions: And when asked about involvement with the JAW games he responds More info coming next week on October 7th when the full interview is released.

Well found, Zukan, although since it's a hush-hush project that he can't talk about, I don't see what extra information the full interview will reveal about it.

True Max, the interview will probably not shed more light onto this new project. But I found the citations in that short story a little confusing, "I’ve done a bit of work for Oddworld", does he mean the company or the franchise? I'm guessing the company but the website makes it sound like it's the game, I hope we'll get a clearer picture when the full interview lands.

I don't know why I had this thought, but as soon as I saw this topic I had an immediate fear that Lanning would see it, find out that Bross spilled the beans, chuck a tantrum and completely cease production on all new Oddworld games.

What a bizzare thought. I couldn't control it, it just hit me.


Either way, this is awesome news. Can't wait to see if we get some kind of announcement out of it in the next year.

Just to clear things up: this is not a leak, and Bross hasn't spilled any beans. He's just acknowledged that OWI themselves are still in the business, something we haven't got any updates about in a long time.

That's cool, I'll be looking forward to it, but I'm more excited about the new Oddworld (series) games from JAW.

How the fuck would you know what they consider a leak and what they don't?

Well if JAW is already working on six new Oddworld games (hopefully some pertaining to the Quintology, i mean shit this series is becoming like the fucking X-Files) then I hope OWI is working on another franchise.

Could someone please link me to where it said six games.

Every time I hear someone talking about JAW's projects*, the number gets larger.


*Note: All they ever said was that they were projects. No-one ever suggested that all of them were games.

Doesn't look like it. It looks like it was about the Oddworld Official website, another tweet from about an hour ago says that the site was meant to go up yesterday but they had issues.

And I'm wondering if maybe Bross has been doing music for the Oddbox, maybe some higher quality stuff for Stranger rather than a new unheard of project? It might be 'unnanounced' because it has it listed as 2010 and they aren'y quite ready to set a 2010 window for Oddbox. Though I am hoping that maybe it's for Citizen Siege back from the dead...
