Hi! I'm using a proxy to get on Oddworld Forums because I've been accidentally ip banned for over a week, and no one gives a shit. The best I've received are second hand messages from the administrators calling me an idiot for not contacting the administrators even though the first thing I did on the first day was send an email to the administrators. Since I received no response from that, I contacted a few people on msn, and a moderator made a thread about it in EL. I was called an idiot again, and told second hand that I need to give them my ip address. I asked the moderator how I should get my ip address, was given directions, followed them, and supplied the ip address. Then I was called an idiot for not supplying the one the administrators want.

So anyway, unban the ip, don't unban the ip. Do whatever the fuck you want, but I'm done annoying people on msn, asking them to ask you for help when you not only refuse to help but berate me for not contacting you when if you checked your fucking email you would see that it was the first thing I did.

I was going to post something about how that really sucks and if I was an admin, I wouldn't allow that to happen because you actually seem like a pretty cool guy to me, but I realized I couldn't word it properly without it coming off as sounding strange, so have this post instead.

Some points:

• I've been away since Monday, and while my phone has allowed me access to limited parts of the Forums, the Admin CP is not one of them (because it uses frames, and my phone can't handle those).
• Even if I could access the Admin CP, I couldn't use the IP address that was posted in EL because, well, said moderator must be daft not to have noticed.
• The solution to finding out your REAL IP address was given by another administrator to the moderator several days ago.
• The only attending member of staff who could possibly have access to the admin@oddworldforums.net email address has apparently been unaware of its existence throughout the entire time he's been in effective charge.
• Only two members of staff can possibly have added any IPs to the list of banned IP addresses in the last few days. I am not one of them.
• I am in OddChat and I have added you to MSN, just to try and resolve the issue, but you don't appear to be online on either.

Yes, basically a list of reasons why I am not to blame. I am not ashamed.

EDIT: I have just sorted out what it took the not-on-holiday staff couldn't in the last 6 days.

I would have fixed it days ago if a certain mod had gotten the correct IP address from you. And days before that if you'd contacted me directly. And it wouldn't have happened at all if you didn't play with yourself at night.

You do understand that I had no way of contacting you directly, right? When you're ip banned you can't even read the forums. It just allows to send the administrator an email. Which I did.

So instead you spent your time bitching about me to people who have both my MSN and my personal email address and didn't think to ask them for either?

I absolutely did ask all of them to contact you. And I never bitched about you until I discovered how often you were bitching about me being stupid for not contacting you.

Next time you should be nice to me, dick. Because of course there will be a next time. God knows I can't go more than a few months without hitting on an ip that's been banned because of MS1029.

I take it MS1029 is some sort of nanovirus that's been released into OWF's general population?

Exactly.

If it makes you feel better, we haven't blocked any MS1029 addresses in well over a year. The only IPs that have been blocked have been specific addresses (i.e. 111.111.111.111, not wide ranges like 111.111.*) that are used by spambots.


Also, it's all Peter's fault.

And they also don't bother to ban blatantly shitty members just because they're afraid of doing some extra clicking, worried it would have the same effect as MS1029.

We ban shitty members who break the rules. Several so far this year, including some permabans. You probably just think that certain shittier members have left of their own choice, simply because we choose not to advertise the infraction process.
