This has probably been discussed in the larger thread surrounding this general topic of new games, however that's somewhat moved on in discussion now to just being really suspicious of JAW & OM..

I'll throw out a few of my bets then that I've posted elsewhere on the internets:

Oddworld: Abe's Illiodd : the final part of an Abe trilogy, perhaps where he rescues the rest of all Mudokons OR the frees Sam from wherever she's being held (as to prevent more Mudokons being born into slavery). This would work really well on XBLA and PSN.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee & Exoddus HD: Because I'm pretty sure there could be a market for HD renditions of the classic games especially if it contains a new chapter, the cancelled game SligStorm could go down well as a bonus package.

Oddworld: Squeek's Oddysee: The next instalment in the Oddworld Quintology.

Originally I was thinking The Hand of Odd, but perhaps that's too ambitious for JAW, in which case I may settle with episodiac content from a Stranger tale. Perhaps a prequel. It would be a bizarre move considering its episodiac content from a game on a different platform, but as a small package, it could work nicely? Then of course there's option to add an online multiplayer deathmatch dealy, and it could go down a real treat.

Nah, too much for JAW at the timebeing. I don't think I'd be satisfied with a sequel anyway, if they were going to make a sequel, they may as well continue working on Fangus Klot first.

I really think this should be in Oddworld Discussion; I'm gonna send it over there and let those guys decide what to do with it.

I thınk that JAW cant do that now, but heres ıt: Munchs Exoddus. If somebody dıdnt lıke the fırst one, It doesnt really mean, that he wıll dıslıke second one. (IMO)

Yes but will people that didn't like the first one give a chance to the second one?

I still think JAW's best bet is to go with something "new'n'tasty" and get themselves a new generation of Oddworld lovers. Although I did mention I'd quite like a sequel to AE..

And by that I mean something which stands alone. So a Stranger 'episode' would re-introduce him to a new generation, yet be its own game, you know?

Illiodd isn't the best name, but I think it's clever all the same.

hahaha Man, that's something. Somewhat of a freudian slip there on my behalf there. I'm not aware of ever having not used 'quintology' before when talking about Oddworld related stuff.

This is what basically has to happen. But I'd like to add a few things.

-Margaret is dead
-Now leaderless the glukkons turn to Molluck, having returned wielding his ancestor's powers.
-A final battle against Abe and Molluck to put an end to his story. Until a time where all heroes would have to meet.

Munch's Exoddus.

Munch travel's to the mongo river to hatch the eggs. May or may not meet Stranger.

Where did you get Abe's Illiodd from?

He got it from Homer's The Iliad. Like how ODDYSEE is a play on the word Odyssey, ya know.

Of course, in a way Iliodd wouldn't work because Homer's Iliad is before Odyssey.. BUT, as far as the story goes, I believe there'd be some similarity. Although its unlikely there'll be a 'war' between mudokons and glukkon directly, I'm sure a third tale would push mudokon sabotaging to its most impressive yet.

Are you at all open to this name or against it, Ziggy?

Edit: Bare in mind it is just a placeholder name for whatever it could be, my emphasis was originally just betting for a third game to be developed. XD I'm not fanfictioning this in any way.

I'd be okay with it but I don't think a third Abe installment would be called that.

It would be nice to see a new story with a new hero, if ODDMOB is still making a 5 part series. Sometimes sequels in any format can suck, but Abe's quest wasn't really finished.

If they continue with Munch they could hopefully redeem that game by making full underwater levels. That would be fun. Munch could have that Roid power where he turns into a giant brute, which never made it into Munch's Oddysee. Other than that...I have no real ideas at the moment of what a new game could be like.

i want Munch's Exoddus more then anything.

I want all the cancelled stuff in MO to be in ME, remember the Slig Tank and them giant Meetals

I think it would be fun to play as Munch and raise his children. After releasing them from their can prison he tries to make them copulate with each other to ensure the survival of the Gabbit species.

I hope any kind of gameplay doesn't require you to raise his children. If anything, I hope when those things are born it should be the end of his story. I could see him turning into this overprotective parent and he'd become annoying and unbearable.

No, a good plot would be if munch's children got kidnapped by vykers.

I wanna see what goes so wrong that the quintology ends in tragedy! Oh and I think ME would be good but like Jordan said, munch would probably be a bit over protective, at least we'd see Ma'Spa and the Song Factory.

I think the likely hood of a Munch's Exoddus is kinda low; I think if they do push for a new game, it will be Squeek's Oddysee. I say this because theres been a pattern in the previous games and this is Quintology game followed by bonus game then another Quintology game followed by another bonus game; so I think since SW was a bonus game, the next one will be a Quintology game. But don't hold me to that; I could be wrong.

Pretty much what i'm hoping for is an awesome oddworld game, but it HAS to have little references to the past games, for nostalgias sake...

I don't understand you. AO =Quintology So next game is a bonus game, right? AE isn't really a Bonus game, I think, and we cant count SligStorm as it was meant to be released with AO (I think).

Couldn't agree more... I just want something Oddworld. A bit like they did with Stranger's Wrath.

What I'm trying to say is; the pattern for the Oddworld games so far has been 1 Quintology game followed by 1 bonus game, so there is a possibility that the next OW game will be a bonus but I personally think they will continue the current pattern and follow up the last bonus game (that being SW of course) with another Quintology game just as they followed AE with MO.

I hope that gives you a better understanding of what I'm trying to say. :)

Abe's story is still unfinished though, since there are many projects coming. A closing of the Abe storyline while opening new ones like Squeek is good compromise.

Well Lorne has said since the development of the first game that all the characters in the Quintology will team up eventually; so I see no reason while Abe can't finish his adventures while with Munch and Squeek, I mean Munch still needs to continue his story from MO too.

In MO we saw both Abe and Munch head on their own adventures before teaming up; so I don't see why this can't be present in the next game.

Personally; I'm not too bothered about what the next Oddworld game is about, as long as it continues from where MO left off in some way. :P
