Abe as Stranger's bounty.
This may well have been spoken of before, but I'm not sifting through 5 years of threads. They'd just get all knotted up, and that'd be hell.
Anyway, are there at all any easter eggs in Stranger's Wrath to do with Abe's infamous bounty poster?! I was thinking today, that despite the fact they're on opposing ends of Mudos, how interesting it would have been for there to be the odd mission where Stranger had to collect Abe's bounty. It'd've made for some real questioning gaming from the players who were lovers of Abe (so pretty much everyone). I suppose if that had gone down, either they'd've resolved their differences, or Abe escapes and leaves behind something of worth for Stranger's bounty request (like a shedded scalp), which to be honest I'd prefer, wouldn't want them teaming up as buddies, that'd be unsettling. Anyway, out of the vast locations we see in Stranger's Wrath, has anyone ever come across just a sepia wanted poster pasted somewhere hard to find?? |
That is an interesting idea. Stranger going after Abe for a huge bounty and to add to your idea turning him over to Lady Margret for trial with of course Molluck! We already know Molluck was set for trial with the Gluk queen so why not? I like the sound of that, it makes for an epic story line if done right. Of course as game play I think you should have the choice of being Stranger the bounty hunter or Abe. As for easter eggs in Stranger's Wrath I haven't seen any. But I will look again as I play through. You are right I would too hate to see Stranger team up with Abe and Munch or something like that. That would just be soo stupid.
|
It would make for a horrible story, since Stranger would have a pretty big grudge against the industrialist. He's had his taste with Sekto trying to kill him, no way he'll ever work for the Magog Cartel. Even if he did trust them to pay up in the end, I don't think he would go after Abe because they're basically fighting the same fight.

Like I mentioned, I wouldn't want Abe actually captured, if this was to happen, I'd like it to be nothing more than a cameo with both Stranger and Abe thinking one another's the bad guy, but then parting afterwards. |
Well what if perhaps Stranger is trying to capture Abe in a sense of Abe leading him to the center of the Magog Cartel to bring the Magog down for good? Its like the whole idea I will hunt you stay out of my way, I have a bigger problem then you, However you have a huge reward out on your head and I can take care of my business as I hunt you down.

If such an event occurs after Sekto, where is it that Stranger would be heading and why would he be going there? Now that he's found and freed his 'people', so to speak, does he want that operation anymore? Is he still a bounty hunter afterwards? Sure he could be travelling out there for the sake of freeing more people, but: a) Stranger seems like the type to care just for his own freedom (and I suppose now that of where he resides). He isn't a hero, in a way he's quite an anti-hero (although does take on noble characteristics toward the end of SW). b) That could get in the way of the Oddworld Quintology. I mean, I'm not too keen on Stranger & Abe teaming up to be perfectly honest. |
To be perfectly fair, Stranger's story isn't part of the Quintology so it will simply never make it into any Abe story in any logical form. And to be honest I don't think the wild west themes in Stranger and the grim industrial/nature themes in the Abe games would blend very well.

You're right that it would be an unsettling transition for Stranger regardless (and wouldn't look too fantastic in game form). Also, I'll be replaying Stranger's Wrath soon, so I'll look out for Abe posters just in case ;) |
I would say his business would be chasing down Sekto since he is not dead yet. Ok no Abe just Stranger going into Mudokon Territory where Sekto could escape to and blend into the Cartel. There would be no Abe just Mudokons and Glukkons. It just so happens Sekto made his way into the heart of the Magog Cartel and Stranger goes after him that far and he so happens to be in regions where Abe and Munch are currently however not meeting up with them. Through that you would hear about Abe and Munch but thats about it.
|
There was brief talk of Stranger's Wrath 2 and that would probably involve him chasing down Sekto and in that battle he might get more involved with the Magog Cartel so as both game's stories progressed I suppose Stranger and Abe could end up fighting a common enemy. I don't see how they would ever fight each other though.

Not really the kind of story twist I'd expect to see in an Oddworld story.
|
I've never played Stranger's Wrath, but I do recall a friend of mine telling me about how there are Abe/Munch wanted posters seen in the game(he didn't specify as to where).
|
There aren't as far as I can recall.
|
This post makes sense coz to the glukons abe is a terrorist master mind
nice idea |

It would be no more than a scrap, a little cameo if anything, and it'd be quite comical to watch. Lighthearted if you will. Spoilers: But you guys are right that chasing Sekto could in fact lead Stranger to foreign lands, however you have to take into account how much Stranger knows of Sekto's disappearance? At the end of the game we just see the host body, although its likely to assume Stranger than sets out to find Sekto, who's to say that Stranger just thinks the parasite fell off as the dam broke and has perished? After all he didn't then frantically look around for it once he heard Old Steef's last words. |
At the end of SW Stranger got a new mission, to protect the Mongo River for the Grubbs. So he isn't going to run all over Mudos trying to bag bounties. Abe and Munch might meet Stranger later as they have some unfinished business to do at the Mongo river, they have to hatch Munch's eggs.
|
I think the probability that Abe and Stranger will meet is approximately
![]() Oh right. |
Wow; someone who thinks like me, I've always liked the idea of Stranger hunting Abe for money.
But why do you find the idea of Abe and Stranger teaming up as buddies unsettling? I think it would be a little strange but also kinda cool. If Stranger did try and retrieve Abe's bounty though; it would have to take place before the events of SW, otherwise it wouldn't work. It would make an interesting game though. :) EDIT: Perhaps you could write some fan fiction based on this idea? ;) |
:
It would be interesting to see Stranger's reaction to attemptive possession as well. How strongminded is he? :

I thınk crossover would be stupıd because of thıs: THIRD MOON.
|
What about Squeek's moon?
|
Same poınt. I want somethıng that wont add next moon, god damn ıt. It can be a sequel to MO, prequel to AO, sequel to AE, or even Slıg Storm (126% Slıgs wont get theır moon), but nothıng wıth another moon.
|
You are going to hate the next quintology games then, as each hero is supposed to have his own moon. Abe, Munch, Squeek and 2 other heroes mean 5 moons.
Stranger on the other hand doesn't get to have one as he is not part of the prophecy. |
I really really really really really hope Lorne is going to change his mind about the moon thing because it's utterly stupid.
|
Maybe Stranger could have hunted Abe BEFORE his run-in with industrialists.
In one of my recent fanfics, I had Stranger hunt Abe, and then later team up with him against the industrialists. |

Not really. 2 games wıth Abe = 1 Moon 1 game wıth munch = moon, second game wıth Munch and Abe = no Moon, 1 wıth Abe = No moon. But the whole concept wıth addıng moons ıs lame for me. PS. For me Squeek ıs ver, very, very stupıd name. (It resembles me a slurg, but that ıs not the only reason why ı dıslıke that name) |
All I want to know is, why would a bounty for Abe be issued by a company in an area where neither Abe nor the company are?
