Costume Quest
 

Doublefine is currently working on four new games. Three of them will be downloadable, and one will be a full retail game. The first game, Costume Quest, will be released by Halloween. It looks a lot like Earthbound. Which is awesome.

Oh, god. Earthbound. I mean, fucking Earthbound. That's one of those games that just defines what's good about being a kid who plays video games. I'd almost be afraid to play it again because I don't know if it'll live up to my nostalgia.

It looks better (and less cheesy) than I was expecting.

I love that little blue kid's helmet/hat.

The boy's name is Reynold? Scary. I was writing a script for a Hallowe'en-themed stop motion film once that had a character called Reynolds in it.


Also, that game looks awesome. When do I get it?

This really does remind me of Earthbound.
I've only recently played earthbound on a emulator (It was never released in the UK) and its one of the weirdest games i've ever played, by god its a great game.

I want to play Earthbound so badly. I don't own a SNES, and don't really like playing emulators (find them awkward), and it's not on the goddamn virtual console.

I might consider picking this up though.

Doublefine just announced that there will be dlc for Costume Quest, coming in December. It takes place about a month later, and you get sucked into the monster's world, and it looks awesome, and I can't wait.

It also fixes some problems that people had with the game, like the inability to save and the text speed.

Here's a clip from it. Seems pretty good, but looks really like the old one. Not that it's a bad thing, but I really hope there's something new to it too.

Anyways, I hope it's max 800MSP and not 1200, I don't want to spend that much on a DLC.

It will either be 400 or 800. Probably 400. At any rate, it won't be 1200.

I remember playing the demo of the game but i didn't really like it because it had no voice actors :( I hate reading.
