Oddworld: AO song remix

Yesterday; I was rather bored, so I decided to remix one of the score tracks from AO. The song I chose to remix was from the Scarbania level. It doesn't differ to much from the original; I just decided to spice it up a little. Tell me what you think of it. :)

very old linkin park-esk

very good

I think it's good. More interesting than the original.

Maybe we could take some of the louder themes and add electric guitars...

Stranger4002 08-04-2010 11:41 AM

I was actually thinking of adding guitars but then I thought that would make the song too aggressive; which wasn't the sound I was looking for, I still wanted to retain the tense feel of the original. :P

OddYouko 08-04-2010 12:21 PM

0:25 seconds gave me goosebumps. :p

Other then the Linkin Park sound to it, It's really nice. I like it. :)
Love the Scarbania level and it's music.
Very nice remix.

Stranger4002 08-04-2010 12:29 PM

Why thank you; I'm thinking of doing more in future. :)

And does it really sound like Linkin Park? That wasn't really the sound I was looking for; I'm not really a big fan of LP. But thanks anyway; I'll try and produce something a little different next time. :D

Pretty cool. What program did you use to make it?

Stranger4002 08-04-2010 12:37 PM

I used logic Pro 9; its brilliant piece of software, once you know how to use it you can all kinds of amazing stuff. So far I've used it for sound editing, song remixing/remastering, MIDI programing and multi-track recordings. :)

Alf Shall Rise 08-04-2010 12:47 PM

Hm, I've never heard of that before. Have you ever used Studio9?

Stranger4002 08-04-2010 12:50 PM

That might be because its available on the Mac. :/ But apparently its very similar to Pro Tools and is considered second best by studio standards.

And no; I can't say I have, whats that like?

STM 08-04-2010 12:53 PM

Very good, you must do more!
If you do paramonia, more +rep

Ah, that would be why. Never owned a Mac.

Oh and my mistake, it's Studio One, not Studio9. :p Not sure why I thought otherwise. Have you heard of that?

abe619 08-05-2010 09:25 AM

yeah it sounds meditative yet it kinda like linkin park.
love it dude.

Lord Stanley 08-05-2010 05:58 PM

I didn't mean take the louder themes from THAT song and add guitars, I meant from stuff like, maybe the battle theme from Munch's Oddysee, or ANY of the themes from Stranger's Wrath.

Ah ok; I get what your saying. :)

Plus heres another remix; its more experimental compared to the previous one, plus it also contains samples from Daft Punk and Frankmusik.

Rupturefarms (Mash-up mix) by Stemo

I do prefer the last one still simply because of it's feel. This one was very good also, the beginning I liked as it eased in from the original rupturefarms bit.

joshkrz 08-07-2010 10:50 AM

Ah they sound mint! I prefer the first one, it would make a good Dubstep tune. The second definatly sounds like Daft Punk. Its great how you can still hear the original track too.

abe619 08-07-2010 03:41 PM

parts from 2nd one sound like thriller.

Crashpunk 08-11-2010 10:53 AM

Awesome job!

EDIT: Its now on my Ipod :tard:

Dynamithix 08-11-2010 11:35 AM

Very relaxing and interesting to listen at the same time. Good job!
