I saw quite much great models buy our good members,so i wanted to say is it possible that all of you game makers that know how to do 3d games,and all of you who make awsome (i dont use this word mutch in english) models unite and make a online 3d fan game,something that should have a map of oddworld that can zoom to mudos and select to zoom like to rupture farms or to the free fire zone or to the monsaic lines(rf is for land muggers,ffz is capturable with three main bases,and ml is tree huggers) that could be the first places,so is it a good idea :fuzconf:

well something like online fan game wheree we all play together,chat or kill each other(tomahawker vs a big bro)or spar (good vs good,or evil vs evil)we could also customize characters if its possible to make,like skin color,eye color,hair color,body tipe(stronger(larger)weaker(slim)) name,race,and class like race slig and we have,popper,than melee or a big bro,we could level gaining active and passive abilities(2,4,6.... are active abilites gained,1,3,5,7,9....passive,we could make a check box that says show only trainable skills,then if we uncheck it we could see skills that are going to be uldgained,there should be ranks to gain when entering pvp in ffz good gain renown and bad infamy.
Edit:it should be make your char,level it to 50 and then go to ffz to gain ranks,or choose a industrialist that is already lvl 50 so he has automatic acces to ffz,good guys need to reatch lvl 40 to get acces to ffz,and there should be raitings,if we have raiting high yellow name should change to white,there should be groups (when people band up) raids for raiding(group turns to raid when leader turns) roll for rolling items that have value,or cancel roll if you dont want it,there should be an inventory and bio for if someone adopts someone,there shold be charters to make tribes(for tree huggers) or cartels(for industrialists)there is like mudokon tribe,gabbit tribe,grubb tribe... and a mixed tribe (anyone can join any tribe)industrialist characters cant leave,they can only be at ffz and rf,they have guards at ffz main base that one shot one kill,same at rupture farms,this would make a wonderful game for any member that loves oddworld |

there could be virtue traits we earn from deed(we also gain titles) race deeds to get race traits (for muds enmity of sligs(kill 60 sligs to get title,deed and racial skill,then enmity of sligs 2 and enmity of sligs 3) class deeds to get class traits(use this ability 500 times to get that bla bla bla....enhanced skill and legendary(like mud shaman can turn into a shrykull but recharge should be 30 mins deals 4000 lightning damage)damages morale for industrialsits corruption(can be bought at trainer,like damage for power,power for damage,health for power power for health,damage for health,health for damage,resistance to fire,resistance to ancient mudokon damage....can be enhanced at r3 by bartering ancient mudokon stones at core corruptions trader) race(gets first one at r5 to barter ancient mudokon stones at race corruptions trader) class(can be bought at trainer) appearance (like normal slig,guard slig,forest guard appearance,black maw appearance wicked war-tyrant fell maw appearance) destiny points gained by doing quests,we get maps to swiftly travel around ffz,by doing enough quests for tyrants at bases,muds have a map home witch can be marked by a mudokon mile stone.Muds get at lvl 20 return to monsaic lines,other races need to go from neutral,to aquintance to enter the shaman grounds and barter items for reputation.at neutral there is a shaman that barters give him 10 spirit stones for increased reputation with the shamans of the lines 300 rep,at aquintance you can trade luminuos spirit stones 1 gives 700 rep at kindred you can barter for 100 spirit stones to get the return to monsaic lines if you are not a mudokon,they also trade much other curiosities,armours,weapons and that |

creating browser games isn't work for 3D artists. It's for web designers and (mainly) database programmers.

lol, I read that MMOs are really REALLLYYYYY difficult projects to pursue lol... First things first, let's look forward to the models and scenes getting completed, then we can look out for a playable version featuring those models.. Then maybe some professional computer programmers can be invited to work alongside the great modellers to produce something as exotic as what you've described.

well we start at the begginning you know muds and sligs and then patchup and build and build and build,and release paramonian expansion,(there could be an elum master afther an expansion that,we could purchese a swift travel or a treavel to a place,large places doesnt need to be found but small camps should have a blue elum icon flashing(that means they have yet to be discovered)afther that it becomes brown,so you need to talk to the guy,like purchasing to find the location.

How old are you? You sound really interested and enthusiastic about your idea... Maybe you should learn a skill so you can be part of the development. I can't see this happening unless the guy with the idea kick starts it somehow. Otherwise it'll just be forgotten.

Creating MMO game connetcts problems from standard game and browser game, because it requires models, textures, levels and huge database with informations about players levels, skills, classes and equipment.

Perhaps you could try your hand at making an Oddworld 2d MMORPG?
Arxryl made a few Oddworld sprites that could be used for that, you can see them throughout this thread: http://www.oddworldforums.net/showthread.php?t=14513 I would recommend using RPG Maker VX for such a project, as there are developed scripts for it for diverse battle systems (such as action battle systems, turn-based battle systems, and so on), and scripts for MMO gaming as well. The scripting language also isn't hard, and I can help you by writing code in it. |

yes,when we make fee co. but at the very beggining mudokon travel lines are elums,at lvl 35 they can buy an elum to mount :D that would be good,and an elum should have 100/100 morale after it falls to 0 you are dismounted,so as entering buildings(some not),and water,when its a river or a sea level.

There used to be a fancorner rule that said you couldn't post fangame threads unless you were able to make the fangame yourself, but it seems to have been lost in one of the many revisions of the rules over the last couple of years.
So while I admire your ambition, if you're not able to make this game yourself then there's no point asking other people to do it. We all have great ideas for games that could be but the idea you're suggesting... Well, an MMORPG would be very difficult to program. I think you would need a team of professional game-makers, which OWF doesn't really have. Also, it would require a lot of online server space, which would be very expensive. So first, I don't think anyone with the skills to make such a thing would spend their time making a free, unofficial game, when they probably have a job of their own which they could actually earn money from doing. Second, I don't think any member of Oddworld Forums would pay for the server, which would not be a one-off payment; it would be repeated payments every month or year and as I said, it wouldn't be cheap. Also, if you decided to sell advertising or subscriptions to make money from the game to pay for the server, you would be breaking Oddworld Inhabitants' copyright and therefore would be breaking the law. I think if you want an Oddworld MMORPG, you're going to have to wait for OI to make one themselves. |
.......i know but they arent doing anything,so why actually wait years and years for them to make something,why cant we all together lets an example make a 3d game for fans,ppl would be happy,as i saw there isnt much ppl and half of them are inactive so...... well i dont know how to say,im sad... there are no oddworld games anymore,no nothing new and emproved.... :(

Scraby, I like this idea, I could see it from an isometric point of view maybe starting in the free fire zone, as a slig, weapons upgrades, locker raiding. Sorta like and oddworld fallout 1?

where you pick either a different type of tribe (Mudomo and Mudanchee) or industrialist like gluckons and vykkers an build a sort of empire in different locations of oddworld like paramonia scrabania and such? |
