Meech's?
Don't you think they'll be something about them in some later oddysee? I mean, it's kinda odd just to have a whole species wiped out and not really say anything about them. And they looked really cool too..

Yeah they probably will return in a later game. They were originally like many other things going to be in MO until they were srcapped from it

and are there still any meeches ?? :
|
I really doubt that Meeches were originally going to feature in Munch's Oddysee, but don't fret - we will be visiting the Meeches and getting to see their lifestyle.
|
Yeah maybe in Hand Of Odd
It's before the other games, so we will see them alive! |
:
1. We don't know that. That was just one early idea. 2. That's a bit daring, isn't it? Saying that we WILL see them... I think people think too much about Meeches. Just because they're extinct, people think they're these big, mysterious, important creatures. People are saying things like 'The next Hero should be a Meech' and stuff. The way I see it, they were a type of animal. Now they're extinct. End of Story. No Heroes... |
I agree with you Rettick that they were just a creature that went extinct, but they have to be kind of special, like a scrab or paramite. I think there are some left and will appear in another game, and they will be able to be possesed. I dont think they will be another hero because they are wild and dont really look like they have much of a brain. BTW if there is a moon for each hero will Munch's just have three little fingers on it?

Who says we will see them again maybe theyre just an example of what the glukkons will do for profit.
|
while it IS possible that they may appear in a later game(s)
i tend to doubt it will be anythime soon, if it all. I sorta agree with Roop, i think one of the main ideas was to show the devestating effects the Glukkons can have on the wild life of Oddworld. Another thing- maybe meeches were meant to be in the original games, or atleast in A game, but they sorta i dunno, 'cluttered' things up a bit, and it might make a sub-plot that was utterly pointless. As far as a flashback goes, to me that seems the most likely, yet unlikley at the same time. Abe had a flash back...(well sorta) about how paramites and scrabs used to be BEFORE the glukkons, and i could see the same thing happening with the meeches, but what would be the point? i mean paramites & Scrabs aren't extinct, so i guess showing how they are in the wild is showing you whats wrong with the OW corporate industry, but since Meeches ARE extinct, it seems there would be no point of showing how they were..not to me any way. and maybe OWI feels it adds more drama/thought provoking game play- to say a creature is extinct, but that there is a VERY remote possiblity of a few living *meeches left- this is just my 0.02, oh and by the way, i'm NEW here, but i should be fairly active and try to provide ramblings such as this as often as possible, lol. ![]() [ December 21, 2001: Message edited by: Disgruntled Intern ] |
That brings me to another point, I think what they were trying to do is be different from the other games where you can be the super-hero guy and save every thing that is in danger, and this isnt your typical game series instead of a strong mocho man youre a small flabby weaponless geek(no offense i love abe) with an odd sense of humour.
Sorry to be long winded and sorry if i didnt make much sense and also welcome disgruntled intern. |
Welcome to the Forums, Disgruntled! Sorry to start off on a nitpicky note, but you accidentally typed "fleeches" instead of "meeches" in the second from last paragraph... *grimaces at the impeccable first impression he's given..."
Anyway, I agree with what you're saying, although it seems that you're having the same difficulty that I do in expressing it in words... Having living Meeches would just be a bit too perfect... |
thnaks for the welcome guys-
lol thanks rettick..*wonders to himself, "why do people get the wrong impression of me because of my poor typing?!?* lol anyway, i'll fix it just for you. yes, i do have trouble typing what i'm thinking, and my thoughts tend to jump all over the paper... [ December 21, 2001: Message edited by: Disgruntled Intern ] |
