Vykkers and Terachnoids
 

I couldn't help but notice that the Vykkers and Terachnoids (from Ratchet and Clank Future: Crack in Time) share some similarities in design. Is this a nod to the Oddworld series? Perhaps the designer drew some inspiration from the Vykkers? Or maybe it's just a coincedence.

Still, the two do share some obvious design pattern...

If OddWorld Inhabitants really has quit making games, I'd hope that they would concider selling some of their properties to Insomniac to develope b/c I can see a very good partnership in that collaboration and the guys at Insomniac seem very devouted to their stuff, so I don't think they'd make just any ol' crap.

Those are two interestingly similar designs. According to one unsourced point made by the Ratchet and Clank Wiki, Terachnoids are stereotypes of the High School Nerd. Not sure how mauve skin and insectoid limbs figures into that.

One could say that the Vykkers are 'nerds' as well, since they're seen as scientists and doctors... further showing some similarity.

I wouldn't put it past Insomniac to be making a nod to OW, or at least some sort of homage/inspiration... as they tend to throw a lot of video games and pop-culture references into their properties; especially apparent in the Ratchet and Clank series.

If Lorne wants funding he should sue over this! Joking, the similarity is very much there and perhaps it's more than coincidental

Sewing always relaxes me as well, but I don't know how he would get funding...unless he sold the dresses at ridiculously high prices.

They do look similar, but the Vykkers are cooler, odder, and a lot more awesome.

I also thought the *SPOILER ALERT* Exosuit mech-thing from District 9 reminded me of the Big Bro Sligs....
