Banned BubbleGum
Did u know that Bubble Gum is Banned in Singapore?
What's ure opinion on that?:fuzconf: |
My opinion is that this is a shit thread. I'm leaving it open so people will laugh at you
|
Well it's certainly not gunna stop people from chewing gum.
I don't find the law so outrageous as I do the penalty. A fine of over 5000 USD is pretty steep. If you want to chew gum more than you want to live in Singapore, then don't live there. |
Just don't mix your chewing gum with explosives... http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Wor...00912215496442

Haha, give that guy a Darwin award! What a way to go. :D
|
Are there special police officers in Singapore who go around checking whether your gum is contraband bubble gum or harmless chewing gum?

And, I might add, you need to apply for a license from the government to be able to buy chewing gum.
|
I think I like this law. Now people will actually stop irritating the shit out of people with that smacking and repulsive noise made by chewing gum being chewed.
|
If this law is actually real I think's it's a waste of time. If you're gonna ban something nation-wide ban fucking smoking or something dangerous

Pretty much anything that pollutes or causes litter is frowned upon with extreme prejudice over there. Though some of the laws are harsh, you can't argue with results. The reason I know all of this is because my Grandad lives there and loves it. Lovable chap. Fills the criteria for the stereotypical old-money aristocrat safari type. He's been to the congo more times than I can count, and has a pair of elephant feet in his study. It's pretty nifty. |
