Recording Oddworld...
 

Umm I know that there's a thread about this..(I think)
But I want a program that can record Oddworld!
I tried Camstudio but when I play it' appears in a small square on the upper right of the player and the rest is black plus no sound!
I can't remember if I tried camstasia but same problem and hyper cam records ok but no sound from the game!

The Abe games were created at a low reolution, as they were limited by technology of the time. You can probably stretch it out somehow. Sound I can't help with.

Try recording at 640x480 resolution ;)

In 1.0 version of CamStudio thre is a record sound option. But why they removed it? :'(

Kapteeni was right. download Hypercam 2 http://www.hyperionics.com/hc/downloads.asp, which should hopefully sort the sound problem, and set the resolution to 640 x 480 on the panel that pops up before recording. it should be on the first tab called 'Screen Area'. width: 640 height: 480

it should record the game fine then, but it'll only record the top corner of your desktop. then again if you're recording the game, you don't need to see your desktop, anyway. if you're still having a problem with the sound, change the settings on the 'Sound' tab on the panel. and if no sound is coming through at all, you may not have a built-in microphone or need to install a new mic. i think.

as far as i know, that's all legal and safe, because i just did it and i'm the epitome of legal and safe dont you know.

Umm....there's a little problem here...My windows doesen't supports the program (note:It's
Windows 7) and i got the 64 bit version cuz that was the only one to download! what should I do...beside reinstalling my windows(Which I am not going to do!)

it lagged quite a bit, anyway. there's Camtasia, which is linked from Camstudio, so i dunno if you've used that. you've got a 30 day free trial on it, after that you have to buy it. but i tried it, and it works fine. but change the recording frame to 800x600 on this one, otherwise i think it cuts the bottom off whilst playing the game.

but i'm no expert, i was being daft at the end of my last post. i'm just doing a trial and error sort of thing.

When i use HyperCam 2 it freezes my exoddus or oddysee fully! :(CamStudio uses less CPU power ;)

Use one colour and people will understand you better.
