The Ol' V-gamez

I hope my thread is unique....
anyways what are the greatest ol' videogames that u played with the exception of The oddworld series(which is the best from my point of view, the obvious reason I joined this forum).
Anyone remember this old fella'?

That's what you consider an old game?

Depends. If we can trust his profile, he wasn't even alive when the first Prehistorik game was published (1991), which is pretty much my earliest gaming experience.

Otherwise yeh, I wouldn't consider Stubbs an old game neither.

Commander Keen. I used to run this on DOS 5 from 5 1/4" floppy.

The reality though? The staggering reality?

Tic-tac-toe. 1952. Never played it.

Lost In Mine. loved this. if you couldn't complete the puzzle or fucked something up, you could press Esc and the little man would shoot himself. lots of clever little things in it like that.

The Lost Vikings was another decent one.

Reptile was always the best from early Mortal Kombat.

T-nex 04-06-2010 04:53 AM

Well my fave is definitely Jazz Jackrabbit :D It's my childhood game. What me and all my friends always played. I still play it from time to time. I didn't like the second on so much, and the GBA version was simply awful. Browsing around, I see the games selling for 100 bucks O_o ... I don't think anyone in their right mind will buy those.

I also used to play Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure. Another fun oldie. Loved it :D

There's Gods, which a really cool on too. Fun music, fun story and fun levels.

Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire. Well, I'm not a big fan of Star Wars, but I found this game really fun. Both me, my sister and our friends would play this game continuously.

A game that I loved and hated at the same time was Alien vs Predator. Seriously.. I used to play this game with my neighbor at night, and it'd always scare us to death. Even when playing as the Predator, which is the least scary of them all. The scariest thing to play as is the Marine of course :p

Oh and then I can't forget all the fun RTS games that I played: C&C/Red Alert games, Dune, Age of empire, Total Annihilation :D

So yea.. There are more I guess, but those are just the ones that played a major part of my gaming interests. I probably left some out that I can't remember right now though.
I remember a game about little balls that you'd have to match, and you could get power ups and play against someone else. I wish I could remember the name x_x

Having a pocket full of quarters, it didn't get much better than Bubble Bobble. Having a friend along, and it was pure bliss until the last quarter was spent, and you screwed up in the most basic way possible.

I'd like to note that the Battle of Hoth level in that game was one of the most memorable gaming experiences in my life.

Reptile was always the best from early Mortal Kombat.

Cyrax was always best. Screw your human concept of honour, he had the sense to bring grenades to fight where everyone else was unarmed. Electroweb - deploy!

MeechMunchie 04-06-2010 05:22 AM

Sorry, accident. Delete this someone.

T-nex 04-06-2010 06:33 AM

Oh yes... I knew I left some things out :D ....

Bomberman! I loved Bomberman. I still play it. I had the game on my phone.

MeechMunchie 04-06-2010 06:41 AM

Mega Bomberman was truly epic.

OddjobAbe 04-06-2010 09:17 AM

I used to really like Doom. I could play that non-stop when I was really into video games. I still love Battle Chess for DOS, but it's a pain in the arse to play, because you've got to keep flicking through the manual to put a code in for the moves. I think my favorite was always Tetris, though. That I could play for hours on end. I especially loved that during the days that I was a big supporter of communism.

Ridg3 04-06-2010 10:39 AM

I really should have mentioned the old Pokémon series...you know, back when it was simple and you could rattle off the whole 151 originals without taking pauses.
