Scenario Creator - Rupture Farms
Much to Jango's delight, I am creating a basic Rupturefarms scene creator/editor!
Updates will be found here and I intend to finish in a few weeks Day 2 of work Actually day four but I've been lazy and haven't bothered until yesterday. What's in the pack? So far a few files containing objects, characters, templates and sample rooms. All the classic items such as UXB's (anyone know what that stands for?) levers and maybe pulleys but I'm not sure about that. Of course standard sligs and mudokons but maybe flyers and crawlers if I get round to it. How are you making it and what file type is it? All BMP or PNG files, all sprites tediously ripped directly from the zulags. It's probably best if you create your custom areas in paint or a similar interface since that's what all objects are scaled to, a template is also given (a blackish one) which shows you the corrects size of an area. When can we expect release and will there be updates? Expect a release of sorts in about a week to two weeks with screen shots posted in the mean time, after wards I will release simple updates you can add to your creations. If you want a special request or just want to vent your happiness/ anger (rep?) do so below thanks =) |
Just to clarify; you're not making a game, your making an image pack right?
|

|
@ Grieva - Yes an image pack not a game
@ Enchilado - Dankushun |
Danke schön*

Small Update:
All files created, objects being ripped on a three times a week basis, so far I've managed to rip around three platforms and am working on making one a lot better, mudokon slave crouching perfected as well a possible and some misc done i.e. levers, grinders e.t.c EDIT: Basic Scene template (unfortunately in JPEG form (all files are in bitmap or PNG originally |
Looks great! :) +rep
Can't wait to get it! Will it be easy to use? |
Very easy yes
|
Awesome! :p Good work!
Does this scene creator get us any closer to creating a proper full level editor? (Where you can play the levels that you create). |
JPEG! IT BURNS!!!
Still a neat idea though. |
Objects will need transparency around them, won't they? Does .bmp handle that?
|
I'm not sure, I'm just giving the basics, you will have to overlap sprites and be careful fo mistakes,
@Jango I have, as I have said previously, no knowledge of using these to make working scenes but I have the basics here for anyone who wants to try |
Ok, I hope that Paul may be able to do something with them perhaps...
|
Hi everyone, sorry about the time it's taking, i'm revising a lot as well so it's not going to come as quickly as expected.
|
Will there be sprites (eg: flooring) from all of the Zulags?
|
Zulag 1 only
|
Ok, I suppose there is no point in looking into all of the Zulags.
Keep working at it Scrabtrapman! :) |
Maybe a map pack update after the origional release
|
:
|
whoa, nice, will you release a demo of it,just to try how it works, :D +rep
|
a release is coming out in about ten days, can you wait until then
|
:
Either way, it's awesome! |
whole thing i.e. map pack 1.
|
What will be in it? :)
|
grinders, platforms, mudokons sligs etc
|
Awesome! Can't wait! :)
|
THE BIG DAY
Here it is: Map pack 1 Unfortunately, I've had a lot of things to do over the past few weeks so here is it so far, it's not amazing quality to be truthful but I hope you enjoy anyway =) To mess about with simply open two paint windows, one to copy and paste objects into the other. If you make a good scenario, make sure you post it in this thread!!!! EDIT: DAMMIT I just realised my file size exceeds the limit, I'm looking for file size reducer now! Any help? |
:
|
Yay! Can't wait to make some proper scenes, it would make a change from using pen and paper! I truly am delighted. :)
What sort of file is it? Paintbox I'm guessing. |
MS paint so BMP. or PNG. I originally wanted to create a zip file but the max limit well exceeds that of OWF
