Binaural Beats

hi guys , binaural beats are:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binaural_beats
benefits:
1- can be used in a variety of ways.
2- same mood as drugs without addiction or harms

and they work guys i am not spamming or joking , i remember one day , i got in a fight with one of my best friends (he apologised to me the next day and we became best friends again) , even before that it was hot , it was crowed and i already wasn't sleeping enough , so i returned so tired and angry that i injured my one hand by hitting the wall with it , so i am finally on my computer , i go to youtube , i found one of theta realms demo vids , which was 10 mins only , listened to it for only 10 mins , i got out of my room , ridiculously happy and calm.
and mods if u consider this a violation as i mentioned drugs , then plz send my a warning and delete this thread but don't plz plz plz plz , thanks mods.

Couldn't this be a blog?

DRUGS DRUGS DRUGS DRUGS DRUGS DRUGS etc...

As long as you don't post a video of you doing drugs, it's okay to talk about it.

So, using sound to stimulate certain glands to produce desired hormones? You could still get addicted to the realese of whatever hormone is realesed.

Couldn't you be an ant? Well? ANSWER THE QUESTION!

MeechMunchie 01-27-2010 08:00 AM

Some part of me knew someone would ask something like that. That part was my brain and must be crushed.

And to answer the question: Yes, if ants have developed advanced cybernetic android technology.

no , binaural beats don't stimulate glands and release hormones , they change the mood of the mind purely , through pure noise only , it only changes the mood but not the body. when the sound is at certain frequency , it changes some kind of mind pattern to change ur mood.

:

For example, that by using specific frequencies an individual can stimulate certain glands to produce desired hormones.

abe619 01-27-2010 09:07 AM

ok , some do stimulate glands like the ecstasy one , but most just effect the mind , and i don't use the ones the stimulate glands , the more important ones are the ones that train your mind , like super learning , relaxation (the most important) , and many like that.

You're late to the party. I heard about these just after arriving in Glasgow in 2008.

I don't like it. Normal music makes me high enough as it is.

Josh 01-27-2010 09:13 AM

The ones on the wiki page just make my head hurt at the sides. REAL RELAXING.

abe619 01-27-2010 10:47 AM

well not all binaural beats are as.....annoying as the ones u listened to , thetarealms r doing a great job:

Leto 01-27-2010 03:06 PM

The frequencies that 'change your mood' aren't transmitted in the above Youtube video because the streaming quality of the audio (128kbps) doesn't transmit the frequencies.

Thumbs up placebo.

abe619 01-28-2010 04:18 AM

but it works i tried it.

but it works i tried it.

an old mate of mine at school was a right drama queen, and went to the doctors complaining that he was 'too stressed'. doctor gave him some drops in a little screw cap bottle to put on his tongue whenever he was stressed. apparently they worked, and he was no longer stressed. turned out it was just sugar water or something.

abe619 01-28-2010 05:37 AM

so ur point is.......binaural beats are just normal sounds?

Sekto Springs 01-28-2010 05:39 AM

His point is that it's placebo, you fool.

abe619 01-28-2010 05:42 AM

but i am not using them because i am addicted , so i don't think "placebo" me , proof: sometimes i just try them for no reason , just to get more relaxed and they work.

Sekto Springs 01-28-2010 06:14 AM

I don't know what you're on about, but placebo has nothing to do with addiction.

You're predisposed to the idea that this music is meant to relax you, so when you listen to it you feel calm, even if it's not actually relaxing. If everyone told you heavy metal was supposed to relax you, you'd eventually believe it, and would lull yourself into a relaxed state when you heard it. It's entirely your own will, not the music's supernatural control over your being.

Music that relaxes you because it's so damned good is a different matter entirely. If that's your case, then ignore the previous statement.

binaural beats aren't focused on the music , it's the frequencies that do all the effect , and even some just sound like complete noise and still relax me.
and if it was my will , how come that when i meditate doesn't feel the same?
and no i would never believe metal is relaxing , infact it's my favorite type of music cause it's kinda fires u up.

The point of the placebo effect is it's subconcious. You are convinced the music helps, so much that you emulate the supposed effects. You don't notice the effects are unrelated to the music until it's too late and you have made the connection, making it harder to achieve the effects without them. It's sort of like Pavlovian Conditioning, except your own conviction is one of the stimuli.

However, the music itself is quite relaxing. Are sure it's not just that rather than magical frequencies?

Really Abe, how hard is it to get that?

If you listen to them on Youtube, the 'brainwave altering shit' isn't transmitted because it isn't the correct frequency. You just feel better because you think it works.

Binural Beats do work, but only under the correct conditions.

OANST 01-28-2010 09:28 AM

From what I could tell, you also have to be using headphones so that each part is only being heard by one ear. I could be wrong, but that was my understanding.

abe619 01-28-2010 09:52 AM

i do use headphones and i know what placebo means , but i know that type of thing that just tricks ur mind into believing something even before i knew what binaural beats are , and most of the time i don't usually use youtube to listen to them and if u think u r so right , y don't u try it 1st?

OANST 01-28-2010 10:10 AM

I don't think it's fake SO STOP YELLING AT ME, YOU BASTARD!

MeechMunchie 01-28-2010 11:14 AM

Neither do I. We're just swapping theories.

I've tried something like that, only not binatural beats, it's more like hypnotism. And I love it. I think that for now, this will do. At least, if it doesn't work and it's all in my head, it gets me away from this nightmare world we call life. So if Binatural beats Is a hoax, and I'm not saying it is, at least it relaxes whoever listens to it.
