What are you drinking (for christmas)?

My rosy - nosed fellows. What alcahol are you having for christmas? (or in general)

I find myself in a house filled with wines and spirits .Whiskey, Rum, Martini and port being my favs. Plus a wonderous variety of beverages that we will undoubtably consume at other people's houses over the holiday.

But what about you?

OANST 12-23-2009 09:48 AM

Not a drinker. Probably nothing. Maybe whiskey if April wants to.

OddjobAbe 12-23-2009 09:52 AM

Beer and whiskey.

MA 12-23-2009 09:56 AM

good idea, Shaman.

step father's got some Glenfiddich Whisky, and Taboo for my mother. i got myself some cheap Malibu stuff called Cocobay or something, and a bottle of Advocaat seeing as its Christmas.

on Christmas day the pub is open for only 2 hours starting at 11 in the morn, so going down there for a Christmas drink and a toast with mates, then back home for a fucking delicious dinner.

Boxing day will be busier for me though, that's when family come down. managed to scrape through, i honestly thought i wouldn't be able to.

shaman 12-23-2009 09:58 AM

Glenfiddich? Cant say i've tried, it's all about JD.

MA 12-23-2009 10:07 AM

i honestly think JD is overrated. you need a nice whisky.

then again it all depends on how your taste buds go.

shaman 12-23-2009 10:08 AM

Famous Grouse.

This.

But i'm drinking local beer. Yum.

Oddey 12-23-2009 10:17 AM

Water, possibly Pepsi (CocaCola is forbidden:D) and about a teaspoon of rum in my cookies.

I don't drink. Not yet anyway.

Famous Grouse.

oh yes. oh yes yes.

why did i forget about that one?

and Oddey, you'll be working the door. that's why you need to stay sober; so you can rough up any trouble causers. i mean - [insert pun about you-know-who to do you-know-what] - petrol chainsaw.

Pilot 12-23-2009 01:34 PM

Port wine.

shaman 12-23-2009 01:35 PM

Is delicious.

Pilot 12-23-2009 01:41 PM

Which reminds me- gotta pick some up this evening. IF UPS EVER GETS HERE I'D LEAVE

Disgruntled Intern 12-23-2009 02:29 PM

Jameson, Absinthe, and 'Irish Death', which is quite possibly the best stout I've had in my life, local or not.

MeechMunchie 12-24-2009 03:33 AM

Not muchof a drinker, but I am partial to a spot of rum.

Sekto Springs 12-24-2009 06:44 AM

Egg Nog - the "adult" version, obviously.
Bailey's at some point, but that's more of a New Years deal.

MA 12-24-2009 07:05 AM

Sekto, you may want to try out some home-made Baileys, and its easy enough to make yourself, anyway. a couple of nights ago we had some of it around a mates, and it tasted just the same as Baileys but sharper. i don't mean stronger, just sharper with the taste buds, as in you could really taste all the flavours, and it wasn't just like cream that got you pissed. we ended up finishing the bottle, that's how good it was. but he used duck eggs that time, so it was sweeter.

Anonyman! 12-24-2009 07:23 AM

Probably nothing. I take alcohol like a little girl, typically.

used:) 12-24-2009 07:46 AM

Probably this murky stuff with plums, grapes, and some other fruits in it. It has a strong flavor but not too sweet.

Bullet Magnet 12-24-2009 09:28 AM

I'm not looking forward to the moment the home brews open up. I fucking hate drunk people. As the one sober one left, it becomes my duty to prevent them from hurting themselves. And the ungrateful sods don't even remember!

Sekto Springs 12-24-2009 09:46 AM

That sounds superb, MA. If I could get my hands on some duck eggs (which go for a pretty penny over here thanks to their being coveted for more gourmet cuisine), I would gladly whip up my own Bailey's and my own Nog.
Time and money permitting, I'd make a whole batch of both. Thing is, time and money isn't permitting.

Take photos. Post them on local lampposts. See how quickly they remember the evening.

Or record the evening and send it to Funniest Home Videos. See if'n you can't win first prize.

that is true. you don't necessarily have to use duck eggs (you'd know, but for other members), they just make it that little bit sweeter. any eggs will do.

Taco: Becks? tsk bloody tsk.

Taco 12-24-2009 07:14 PM

Yeah it's great, and I suppose Heineken isn't half bad either

Only kidding, I've never had it. I didn't drink ANYTHING yesterday AT ALL.

MA 12-25-2009 05:08 PM

just polished off the eggnog. had a helping hand from my younger step sisters boyfriend, but he had 3 and was rather wobbly (legal age, no worries). i thought better of it so i finished the rest off once they went.

shaman 12-25-2009 05:17 PM

I can honestly say that i've never had egg nog. Although it sounds quite tasty.
